Cliff Top Cafe

This little Café is in a really great spot. I hadn’t visited for a few years and was suprised to see the quaint little tearoom had been replaced by a modern permanent building. This could be a wonderful place to visit but was marred by bad service, sadly typical of many of today’s cafes. I hate queueing at any time, especially when I am looking forward to a sit down and a snack, I also hate to have to try and find not just an empty table but also a clean one, and I hate paying high prices when no service at all is provided. From this Café there is an excellent view of the coast of France just 21 miles away, perhaps they could take a leaf out of the book of the many small Cafes and Bars over there, clean tables, service at the table and a feeling that you are getting a good service.

The Cliff Top Café is a little gem right up on the cliff top in Capel. It used to be a little prefabricated building but in recent years they have had a permanent building built. They sell a small menu of hot food including fried breakfast and toasted sandwiches. They also sell a lovely cream tea with home made scones as well as home made cakes. There are many walkers routes around the café and it is a great spot to stop and have a rest and a drink whilst taking in the fantastic views out to see and to the left Dover and the white cliffs and to the right Folkestone beach and harbour. They have their own car park and the food is very well priced.
