The Bell Inn, Buckland Dinham, Nr Frome(A632) WARNING: Map is wrong! I’ve driven past this pub so many times and it looks inviting. Today we went in with to try it out. I often find that you cannot judge a pub by its exterior. We were pleasantly surprised this afternoon. I don’t know who put the spaniel by the door, but it was the perfect welcome! :) Welcome at the bar, not crowded but very cosy with a lovely open fire. We were guided to a lovely table by the fire which was perfect. We had a lovely lunch too. My wild boar sausages with leek and herbs were fantastic, all meat and no filler I could detect. The mash was yummy and the gravy. The veggies were water logged but I don’t hold that against them.(my meal was less than £9.) My companion ate ham, egg and chips and it looked good. The puds that arrived at the table next door looked pretty good and were appreciated. Hobgoblin on tap, Butcombe bitter amongst others. The landlords are really friendly and I look forward to coming back again sometime soon. Oh, they have a field at the back to hire for events. What is the bike doing up on the stake? Didn’t ask.
