Frome Leisure Centre

The Sports centre’ as it’s still known in town, is an enviable facility for the area, covering many indoor and outdoor sporting events.
The most well-​known feature is it’s 25m swimming pool (verious sessions, ring for timings and prices) — open regularly and frequently. There is also a separate children’s swimming pool, ideal for teaching the little ones to swim, or just to enjoy a splashabout with your babies. Basic but clean changing rooms with showers and locker facilities.

The Avalon Lifestyle Centre caters for all keep-​fit activities with many different courses available.
It also has badminton courts, squash courts and inside areas for football and other ball-​game practices. Plus
A viewing gallery overlooks both the swimming pool and several inside courts, with snack machines (although at last visit the options were more of the chocolate and crisps variety than the healthy type!)
Outside, there are many different sports courts for football (Astro Turf pitch) and other games practice areas.
During the holidays there are often different childrens courses available for sports training and taster courses.
The ‘Sportie’ is situated on the Bath side of town, but regular buses run from the town centre (catch Trowbridge or Bath bus, or specific town bus) that stop at the end of the road — just ask the driver for the Sports centre if you are unsure.
