I just love this shop, I used to go to Quiggins when it was in School lane spent most of my time here as a student, now Quiggins Attique is a grown up, much more glamorous, yet a great deal smaller version of the old Quiggins. The shop is like Alladins cave –everywhere you look there is a beautiful treasure, be it a crystal chandelier, ornate mirror, piece of vintage jewellery or sequinned gown– the owners are very friendly & chatty leaving you to rummage to your hearts content, I’ve bought some lovely genuine vintage pieces from here.

Remember the British TV drama The House of Elliot? Well, Quiggins Attique is exactly what I imagine the sisters’ house might look like these days. Dozens of Chandeliers dangle from the ceiling and everywhere you look there seems to be elaborate mirrors, old fireplaces, decadent lamps or beautifully covered arm-chairs. To add a bit of mystery and drama to the antique and salvaged furniture, there’s also feather boas, sequinned scarves and eye masks, original victorian clothes and 1930s and 40s jewellery dotted around. Ideal for historians, salvage lovers and treasure seekers. Not so ideal for asthmatics I’d imagine!
