Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead Hotel – Tyne And Wear

Decent hotel for this budget chain — £60 ish for double rooms unit the location is really good just on the south side of the Tyne and within a few minutes walk of the river and Tyne bridge.
Nice clean room with a tv, wet room shower etc and all laminate flooring keeps the room neat and uncluttered.
Breakfast is the usual affair with a basic range of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries. For the hungry there’s also the cooked option which covers all main bases ie bacon, sausage, egg, beans and hash browns but not exactly high cuisine!
There is on site parking at £5 per day but be warned, this hotel is popular due to its proximity to the city centre so the car park fills up fast! Don’t arrive late!

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel on the 7^th December after going to see The Black Keys at the arena (which was amazing obviously!)
The location is really good, nice distance into Newcastle whilst still managing to avoid the busyness and noise of the city centre, just a nice walk over the Millennium Bridge and you’re at the Quayside.
We’d been for a drink after the show so we didn’t get chance to check in until about 1.30am, which was no problem at all. Despite it being late there was still a nice friendly atmosphere at the reception and there were some more customers milling around. The man that served us was great and attentive, all be it a little tired which is unsurprising given the time, but he made an extra effort to offer great service and even went to find some toothpaste for us as we had forgotten to bring ours — standard!
The hotel corridors are all carpeted and very clean. When we arrived at our room we were delighted! It was a great size, HUGE bed, nice bold décor and flat screen tv; we couldn’t have asked for more. The room was very clean and we slept really well after a busy day.
In the morning we enjoyed a nice lay in, as check out wasn’t until 12 so we could relax. The bathroom was good with a nice shower area which was a ‘wet room’ style, however when we came to use the shower in the morning it didn’t drain very well and proceeded to flood the entire bathroom! Safe to say our towels got well used! But this didn’t affect our stay too much, maybe so if we were staying more nights but if that was the case we probably would have requested to move rooms. We mentioned the issue when we checked out and the gentleman was apologetic and assured us it would be looked at.
All in all our stay was brilliant and we would absolutely stay here again when we next visit Newcastle. We were looking forward to our stay after reading some great reviews and we were not disappointed. All I would say was missing was some shampoo and conditioner from the bathroom, as I had to use hair and shower gel, which when you’re a girl isn’t ideal! But for the price I suppose it would only be expected.
