bloc: Creative Technology Wales is the only organisation in the country that specifically represents the interests of people working creatively with new technology. Their remit includes the following disciplines: web authoring, film and video, CAD and 3D modelling, image processing, electronics, desk top publishing, print and publishing, digital animation, sound, computer programming and gaming software.
With technological advancement being as inevitable as tomorrow, bloc remain flexible and adapt to new innovations readily. So, somewhat unsurprisingly, the above list is likely to change regularly!
bloc essentially acts as a source of information with a view to assisting individuals to achieve professional development, as well as providing research and advocacy services. They also act as an intermediary, facilitating exchange and partnership between business and industry, science and technology, education and creative practice within Wales. They also commission projects to enhance production and presentation opportunities in collaboration with a range of partner organisations.
