It’s not often that I’m passing through this area and as I was meeting a friend nearby & came a little early I came in for a coffee. Service was rather slow I found it hard to grab a member of staffs attention, probably just short staffed. The coffee was ok but not the best I’ve had. From what I saw of the menu it looked simple and kind of quick food that could be churned out quickly, will try the good next time l pass by.

I ended up here kind of by accident on Sunday, after a morning at the Barras Art & Design Centre. I didn’t realise there was even a café here now(my last visit was when the Street Feastival was on and this space was used as the beer bar!) — with some googling, I discovered the café only opened in November. It’s a cute wee café, space for maybe 10 – 15 customers to sit and you could also sit outside or in the BAAD space. The food was pretty straightforward — rolls, sandwiches, French toast and some breakfast options. I went for the veggie breakfast which was around £4 and came with all the usual suspects(hold the beans, please). The food was decent — fried eggs, lovely mushrooms and roasted tomatoes with toast and a tasty potato scone. I wolfed it all down super, super fast! So why the three stars? The wait for the food was way too long. I could tell they were under pressure from getting a few orders at the same time, but from the delivery of the dishes they were just doing one dish at a time which was pretty frustating(especially as I’d been the last person to order). So keep this in mind if you visit during a busy period, there could be a substantial wait!
