I am a big fan of Bombay Blues, it has now become a bit of a family night out tradition for us. The reason I like it so much is that you can combine made to order food with the buffet– the buffet food is of excellent quality of choice(with at least 2 vegetarian mains, and a lot of vegetarian starters including channa masala) but they also are happy to make food to order if you see something on the main menu which you would like, or indeed if a buffet favourite is not available they will make it fresh for you. The buffet is well tended and monitored so that it never has cold food or missing ingredients, and everything is clearly labelled so you know what it is, and its relative spicyness. We tend to like things on the spicy side, and for us a number of the starters are just right although other less spicy options are available with meaty options in lamb, chicken and beef. I didn’t spot any fish options on this occasion, but I have seen them before and you can order them from the main menu should you choose to do so. The buffet also features spicy onions and poppodums for starters, vegetable and chicken pakora, chicken wings, onion rings, salads and sauces. Garlic and plain naans are regularly refiled, and also saffron or basmati rice to accompany your mains. We enjoyed two custom made vegetarian specials; paneer palak which was creamy and beautifully delicate– some spinach dishes can be quite overpowering but ours was full of flavour and a beautiful texture, and paneer makhani masala which had oodles of well cooked sabzi and topped with coriander. The paneer was light and smooth rather than crispy or coated, it complemented the spice mix so well. The other made to order dishes were butter chicken(went down a treat with the top of the table) and masala chips which were spicy and tasty, not something I would normally order but a favourite with some of the Bombay Blues regulars and sometimes they appear in the buffet! The dessert section of the buffet menu is really good if you have room– this time I didn’t but one or two of our party left a little room for ice cream, gulab jamun and kheer. The service at Bombay Blues is excellent, very friendly and attentive. They are happy to advise of the content of dishes… just make sure you leave room and don’t over eat otherwise you’ll really need that comfy couch in Aria bar next door!

Best north indian buffets in Glasgow City Centre. Not many varieties but will make it perfect with the taste and the word unlimited makes you sooo full!!! To add drinks menu is good also!!!

A late lunch and catch up with Friends. A surprising find the welcome given to us by Jevia the Maitre D and owner was lovely, the décor was very tasteful and surprisingly modern. We opted for the lunchtime buffet at £7.95, Jevia made sure there was fresh starters for us and even came to the table with delicious fresh garlic nan. There was plenty to choose from for both courses my favourites were the Cauliflower Pakora and Buttered Chicken. The Girls had a bottle of wine and I had a pint of Cobra which was very nice, we lingered a while whilst catching up and we did not feel rushed in anyway in fact we all had a liquer on the house and an invited to go for a drink in the bar of their Sister Hotel next door, The Artto Hotel, but then that is another review.

Not a lot of choice on the buffet, but it was very good. Nothing very special, just good food for a good price!

Honestly, some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! The Buffet is usually the best value, if you go for lunch it is only 8GBP. The best Chicken korma I’ve had to date is from this place. I once went with my family at 9pm, and although online it says the buffet is open til 10pm, it was closed. But the staff was super accommodating, and we ordered off the menu. I’m not sure if it was the owner or the manager, sat down with us and explained which each dish was and what was in it, as it was my family’s first time eating Indian. He even discounted our check saying one of the dishes took too long. It also has a nice ambiance. I’ve been to this restaurant multiples times and am never disappointed.

Not been here, since I moved back to Glasgow from Liverpool. Even to this day this place delivers. It is a buffet eating place but also have ala carte too. While most buffet places are run down, this place has a fine dine décor. Very clean, very friendly staff, very attentive, and the food is great. Practically right next to Glasgow central train station, this place is a must. I have seen these people cooking for huge Indian weddings in the past and they are very clean in the kitchen. I think I’ll have Carrot Halwa and some kind of semolina ball for dessert that they make, these are breathtakingly good desserts. You can’t beat lunch for £7.95 Get there and do a review as I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as myself and people I have introduced to this place have liked. Only bad thing. Because the food is so nice I always over eat and feel bloated:(this is my own fault:)

Returned again as a known quantity, and was not disappointed. The dinner buffet was tasty, though. There’s not a lot of spice, even on the items noted as spicy, and the naan suffered from being on a buffet line, but it was an enjoyable meal regardless.

I’ve been in here several times over the last 10 years or so, and now work pretty close to it so sometimes visit as a pay day treat. I’ve never ordered a la carte as the buffet is so good, but have heard good things. My favourite thing about the buffet is the selection of starters available — they have all the usual pakoras etc but always have a few extra things for you to try. I tend to fill up on these rather than the curries as they’re so good! They used to have a huge pan with loads of onions and chicken chaat sizzling away that you helped yourself to, but I haven’t seen that for a while. Please bring it back :) Main courses and the cold salad bit are always really tasty too and I normally try a little bit of each one. Desserts are also fantastic — if they have halva on offer you HAVE to try it :) I personally think it’s a little steeply priced for dinner time as there isn’t a huge selection of main courses, but for lunch time it’s great value and that time of day would be my preference. A firm favourite that I’ll return to again and again

Das tolle Mittagsbufett hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die britische Gastlichkeit haben allerdings etwas vermisst. Daher nur 4 Sterne.

Bombay Blues was the first Indian I fell in love with in Glasgow. Its staff are hilarious and friendly(often they will treat you to a free drink at the end of your meal, or maybe they just like me!), the buffet is really good and has the bonus of unlimited chicken pakora… The a la carte isn’t too pricey either and is wonderfully fresh –probably helped by the fact most people go for buffet so the chefs have plenty of time to spend creating a wonderful curry for you!

I have been to this Restraunt about 5 times and the service has always been fantastic. The food has always been ok. What I mean by that is the food has never been superb but never bad; just ok. I have tried the buffet a couple of times and if you measure the quality of a Restraunt by how much you can eat then this is a great place but I would prefer to eat less of better quality. It is better to go a la carte but I thought it was a bit pricy; better but not great. I would not put you off but it will not blow you away.

Again, I am roaming the world for business reasons and the streets because l’m hungry. This time fate sent me to this lovely Indian food temple and I couldn’t resist the buffet the exotic smell when I entered the place was irresistible. The lamb is indeed fabulous and the various chicken dishes all are worth tasting. The mango chutney is a sweet temptation, beware of the pickles if you don’t like it hot. And remember to leave some room for the Indian sweets for desert; I liked them well enough and they made the Indians sitting at the next table nearly extatic, so they must be rather good.

Been here a few times for the buffet. Main courses have always been excellent, the lamb methi is my personal favourite. The lamb just melts in your mouth. Staff have always been nice. Great value.

Went to this restaurant last Thursday with three friends for the buffet and we where sorely disappointed by the standard of food. The choice of pakoras that were there was limited and was soggy from the stream off the metal containers. The mains all tasted the same due to over seasoning with the only real difference being the colours. We won’t be back to this place again in a hurry.

Went to Bombay Blue last night and had the buffet. The food was good. Although I don’t think you ever get the same quality in a buffet. It was very reasonably priced at £11.95. I’ll be going again to see what the quality of the a la carte is like. Good restaurant inside. Definitely worth a visit.

a good an economical lunch buffet right next door to glasgow’s central train station. for all i know, this place is middle-of-the-road here in britain’s «curry capital,» being that we ate at the first indian joint we came across. but it was a fine choice. the icing on the cake: desert menu featured tasty movenpick ice creams.

I love this place. It’s right in the city centre, so is very easy to get to. The food is lovely, and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely, very friendly and accomodating. They do a buffet which I would highly reccomend, they always have a good choice of food and it is all fresh and well presented. This used to be my local indian, so I was a regular for take-aways, we were on names terms with staff after only a few visits, and they came to know our orders and likes/dislikes. They do not deliver, but offer 20%(maybe25%?) for all takeaway orders. I definately reccomend Bombay Blues for a meal out. Or, if you live in glasgow, it’s definately worth the drive to town for a takeaway!
