Just a little over 3 months old, Bouncy Beans still has that new car smell to it. With an interesting décor aimed at making you feel like your in some sort of minimalist south American day dream(at least that how i felt… need more coffee perhaps.), its a nice if slightly odd feel. Now maybe this is more personal preference that’s swaying the review so far. I like my coffee shops to be couch deep in comfyness, old beat up wooden floors, big ol windows and cute student chic waitresses(apologies for my male ways!). Ok, Bouncy Beans is nothing like this, in fact quite the opposite, however i’m sitting here supping a wee latte ans not entirely disliking the experience. With south American music pipping through at a pleasant level, decent coffee, a fine selection of cakes, snacks etc(expect a SA twist on all the lunchy type grub… obviously!). Its a nice wee place. Free Wifi helps to boost its score, as does the friendly service. I cant help but feel though that this place is yet to fully discover its identity as a coffee shop. Its all a bit bare at the moment and a little to stark to really pull me in again for any amount of time. It’ll take a bit of time, but i feel that Bouncy’s will find its niche… i would recommend loosening the tie a little bit, letting down the hair and going with the South American vibe a little more… chill out!
