Slowest bar staff in Glasgow. Waited 15 minutes for 2 coronas. staff didn’t seem to realise/care who was next to be served.

Bunker has become my lunch date spot with a friend. Originally it was because it was equidistant from our works. We started going when I was pregnant and, craving beef, I would always get the burgers. Well. Since having the baby, I’ve ordered other things and found that their menu is really good. Everything I’ve had, I’ve liked. It’s all reliably tasty. You can’t go wrong with any of the wraps, sandwiches, pastas or fajitas. And, except for the stairs-only entrance, it’s incredibly baby friendly during lunch! The big huge booths are perfect for a pram to sit alongside and a baby to wriggle around in while you eat. The servers have been uniformly and consistently lovely to me every time I come in with my big unwieldy buggy. They go out of their way to make sure we’re comfortable. I was not expecting that and it’s definitely made me a loyal and grateful customer. I’ve also found the service to have improved, ironically, now that they’ve done away with the Express Lunch. I think it was putting too much pressure on the kitchen, which I’m sure took out on the staff, which in turn affected their ability to do their jobs properly. Lunches actually come out in better time now, and it’s all around more enjoyable to have lunch without an egg timer counting down the minutes. So what I’m saying is – lunch here, and tip well.

Came here on a Sunday evening with a group of friends for a cheap dinner and a catch up. The food is half price on a Sunday evening which made my tasty burger and G&T come in at a pretty splendid £7! Went for the bandito burger with chipotle, which wasn’t quite as spicy as I fancied but definitely a good burger. 3 stars for a solid good bar, which has a sort of Bier halle vibe going with all the wooden interior and furnishing. Feels quite studenty, a nice step up from those awful student pubs like the Scream lot. Nice wee seating area out the back too if you are luck enough to visit on Glasgow ‘s 3 days a year!

Well now. It had been many a year since I had been to Bunker and my friend kindly chose to remind me of the epic hangover I had one of the last times we were there which was a bit cruel. Anyway, as far as the experience goes, I went here with a friend and her mum/sister/mum in law/sister in law to be after a couple of hours of wedding dress shopping. It was a celebratory kind of late lunch so the wine was definitely flowing. After 7.5months of t-totalness recently came to an end, I can definitely recommend the rose zinfandel. As far as food goes most of us went for pizza — personally I went for the vegetarian, bit disappointed in the amount of mushrooms(I was hoping for lots) but it was delicious, lovely thin base. I also ordered a bowl of mixed olives and was presented with a huuuuge bowl of olives, plenty for sharing. Good music, good atmosphere for a 4pm Saturday afternoon and not too full of youngsters(getting older now, me). All in all, still a good’un!

Went into this venue after a meal with friends, found it to be quite lively, music was ok, no seats to be found though for a while! After another scan of the area, we went out to the small court yard, very small but at least we could put our jugs of yummy cocktails down! Was not too long until we got a seat inside! Atmosphere was good, however I’m only 32 and I felt their was a LOT of younger clientele here! Still was a fun night, stayed for 3 cocktail jugs between four of us! Nice pleasant enough place to socialise with friends! Will need to go back and try out the food!

Well who needs Groupon or Itison when you’ve got places like these! My friend is a keen bargain hunter so when she and I decided to head out for dinner on Saturday night she was quick off the mark and online checking out the latest deals in and around Glasgow coming up with Bunker’s «Deal of the month»…Result!!! I’d never been to Bunker before. Good atmosphere and gets pretty busy but we had pre-booked so our table awaited. What a deal! Any 2 courses for 2 people from the full menu PLUS a bottle of wine for a grand total of £20!!! Bargain! I had a generous Piri Piri Chicken followed by the beef fajitas which were cooked to perfection and I’m pretty fussy when It comes to Mexican dishes. Cocktails were totally reasonable too at £3.50 we felt it would be a little rude not to partake in a cheeky little Kir Royale consisting of bubbly and Crème de Cassis to finish bringing the grand total to only £27. They appear to have pretty good deals on 7 days a week so worth checking them out online. Staff were excellent and very friendly, all in all a great experience all round so would definitely head back again… A little gem of a find… Thanks Simone!

I know a lot of folks do not like the Bunker since it tends to turn into a pre-club starting point in the early evening. But I would still check this place out. It sits amongst its Bath Street Brethren as the original brown wood basement bar which may appear a little dated now, but I still like it. I would get in here earlier and enjoy some of the amenities that it offers. It has a lovely little suntrap in the back which is brilliant place to enjoy the Scottish Summer sunshine. You can get out of here when the clubby folks start to appear, but until then, I usually find enough here to spend a bit of time.

The food in Bunker is always fantastic and well priced, last time i was there i had the fajitas and they were incredible. The drinks are always cheap and they do some excellent promos on a Thursday night! The place itself is really nice and they have some big booths at the back that are ideal if there is a crowd of you!

Was in Bunker last week for a meal with my close friend for their birthday and we loved it. Food was great, service was great and i highly recommend the Belgian Waffle for desert. Delicious

Bunker has the look of a glossy cocktail bar, but it’s primarily geared towards a student crowd. It’s sleek inside, and the backbar glows in the soft lighting which entices you to drink more! They have a lot of choice at the bar, including some interesting cocktails that all seem to be cake themed. When I read out the cocktail list to my friends, one genuinely believed I was ordering dessert! But a tasty list makes for delicious drinks, and they are rather scrummy. I’m not going to pretend I’m classy, however — I usually take advantage of their very cheap booze deals. It’s 1.50 for a Corona or vodka and coke if you fancy a wee cheeky spirit to start your night! They also have a food menu, which I’ve yet to try but it smells good. During the course of the evening the lights are dimmed and the music gets louder, giving it the feel of a night club. It’s a good precursor to a night on the town, and particularly good for groups since there’s a lot of space and massive, classy booths for you to perch your bum on. They’ve got these seats tucked away at the back of the bar which look like they’re dug into the ground — I love these little trenches! They’ve also got seating in a decked area outside that allows smokers to get their fix in comfort for a change. The bar staff are pretty cool and although it’s usually busy with a young crowd, you’re always served quickly. For a bar that looks as flashy as Bunker is, it’s pretty relaxed, too. Although in theory it should be dominated by boistrous youngsters it’s surprisingly low key, and a good place for a first date since you’re unlikely to run into trouble here. It seems like it attracts a friendly crowd, and is a great laugh on pub quiz nights. I’m not usually into bars like this but I really like Bunker! It’s classy, cool and comfortable — a cut above!

Bunker is a lively little place. Tucked away in a basement bar, it’s not what you expect. Midway between a club and a late night bar, it’s got some rockin’ tunes to keep you going. The décor is simple yet modern, yet they don’t sacrifice looks for comfort. There are plenty of booths and, if you can get one, a couple of sunken booths in the back. The bar stretches nearly the entire length of the venue, and wraps around on one side, so that even if you’re in one of the sunken booths, you can still order a drink without having to walk around. DJ’s keep the beat a-pumpin, and I find that Bunker is a great place for a group, like a hen/stag do or a works’ night out. Bonus points for the toilets, with their Jedi flushing technology. Wave your hand and say ‘you will flush now’. Makes me giggle.

Hen nights, Stag do’s, office parties, Christmas parties etc etc… this is what you will find in Bunker on a regular basis… this is also why you will not find me in Bunker on a regular basis. Ok, so its not the worst place in the world for a few drinks, but to be honest, this place is more of a pre club«lets get ourselves used to the ear crashing volume of a club» type joint than a bar. Its all a bit to polished and trendy for my liking, with most of its visitors sporting the latest in «what everybody else is wearing» fashion. So children, that’s a no from me, too loud, too polished, too trendy… food’s pretty ok though.

Bunker is great for pre-drinks or after work drinks too. It always has a great relaxed atmoshphere and there’s never any idiots causing trouble here. The drinks are reasonably priced and a lot cheaper than Moskito across the road. Tip: If you’re a fan of Bamboo then you can get free passes from the staff at Bunker, just ask someone at the bar.

Bunker is the sort of place you could miss. It offers 25% for students on food and free passes for Bamboo, which suggests it is a student sort of bar to go before you go out. And I guess it is. You can have a decent enough night in here all the same though, with good drinks promos during the week. The food is served till late. There’s a free nippy wifi connection, but it’s difficult to get a reception on your phone as you are downstairs. The music varies, and is solely DJ based so don’t expect any live music. It’s mostly good though, I won’t complain. I’ve had problems with the bouncers in the past here, and the location is not ideal. Petty problems to keep me from going more often, but there’s just so many other places in Glasgow to choose from. That being said, it’s hard to go a few months without someone wanting to meet up at Bunker and, I am all for it! It’s quite comfy and there’s never been any fights or real hassle when I’ve been which is always a plus. Going up that hill though…

At the risk of sounding terribly old and boring, Bunker is too loud! Filled with groups of lads and ladies getting lairy and all jeering at each other as they down drink after drink. I’m not a fan of Bunker. To its credit, it does have some big comfy leather-like booths that are good for groups, if you’re lucky enough to get one. Live football games are shown regularly, which draws in the crowds. I always seem to end up being dragged here, as a pre club pub to please groups of friends, however it’s more for those after a rowdy night out with football and fights.

Open till 2am most night, Bunker is big, usually very busy and hovers in a sort of strange middleground between pub and club. There’s no dancefloor but the music is very loud, and it tends to be full of studenty types who see themselves as a bit above Curlers and The Garage. The mainly rock soundtrack made Bunker a bit edgy in 2004 but nowadays it feels a bit tired, as does the décor. It’s still probably one of the best bars of it’s kind in town though, and worth a visit if you’re on a night out up this end of town.

Bunker is a chilled out pub during the day with a pool table and lots of booths to relax in with a drink(all £1.50 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) or scoff on a bite to eat. There used to be great offers on the food though I dont think these are still available — I checked out the menu the last time I was there despite just being in for a quick drink(couldnt resist) and I couldnt spot any. However, it is all reasonably priced anyway with a choice from something light to something a bit more hearty. It has a few computers too so you can check the internet and at least pretend to be doing some work(or thinking aout doing some which is half the battle) to ease the guilt of being in pub midweek during the day. In the evening it gets a bit livelier and you’ll be lucky to get a seat if arriving after 9pm at the weekend. What I love about it is the price of the cocktails — all £2.50, all the time! While most places shoot up the prices of such exotic drinks at the weekend(when, of course, you most crave one), Bunker keeps them low. Big attraction for French Martini lover like myself! All in all, it makes it a great meeting place for a night out. The only thing that detracts from that is the lack of reception(on an Orange mobile phone anyway). With absolutely no signal it means people can’t get in touch if lost on their way to meet you or running a bit late. This may be a blessing, you say, but for a worrier and text-obsessive like myself it’s not a good combination. I spent the most part of an evening here outside the front door upstairs waiting for my flatmate to call me to say when she was nearly there to collect my keys since she had locked herself out in the rain with no money. By the time I returned to my booth of friends my hair was both stuck to my head and larger than a lion’s mane. More cocktails eased the pain. But I digress — not the bar’s fault.

Bunker is an enjoyable venue, for pre-drinks, or what-have you. It has pub grub,(cheap pub grub), cheap drink promos, and decent music. I personally have been there a few times for pre-club drinkage, as it’s £1.50 for most drinks on a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday(and some cheapy cocktails can be found too!). There are a few large booths to place yourself too, so it’s a nice place for larger groups — and they’re obviously comfy(we found a slightly older student asleep on one of them once… oo-er! Think someone had one too many beers…). They have DJs too — DJ Toast(know for his collosal Friday nights at QMU — Cheesy Pop… wooo!) is a familiar face, amongst others. Open til 2am, it’s also pretty good for one of those«shall we/shan’t we go out» nights — you kinda do want to go out, but you don’t, and can’t make up your mind. A general rule, I can imagine for most, is that if you make it past 1am drinking, you might as well club it up. Doooo it!

My first ever visit to bunker was last night, as part of our«Oh shit, this is the start of 5th year» drinkathon. The atmosphere in here managed to lift us out of our depression though. The music was good, and the place was full with young, good looking students. Just like us lot. I polished off a few French Martinis: the cocktails were £2.50 but vodka + dash was £2.70??? Later, we moved on, but I think I would have liked to stay for more.

Really good bar I spend far too much time due to the cheap drink deals throughout the week. £140 a drink Tuesdays and Thursdays! Plays a good mix of indie and dance music and serves nice food. Gets really busy some nights but is large enough to cater for everyone. Has the occasional guest DJ set from visiting bands playing as part of an after show. Well worth a visit
