You know, maybe this was just an off night given the other reviews but I was so disappoint with this restaurant. Don’t get be wrong, the staff are lovely but I won’t be returning. I booked this place because we were to a wedding reception nearby and it seemed ideal going by the reviews. It was fairly quiet when we arrived so I thought it would be an in and out job. I suppose I should’ve guessed how it was gonna pan out when we still had to wait a good 15 minutes for our table. Once seated, it was another 10 mins or so before someone took our drinks order and gave us menus. I won’t bore you with all the details but it just went from bad to worse. We had to remind the waiter several times that we had been waiting a long time for our food and when it did eventually arrive, they forgot the rice and naan and had to wait again for that, by which time our other food got cold. The food wasn’t that nice anyway so a good bit got left. To be fair, the manager discounted our bill by 50% but I’d have rather paid double the original price for a better dining experience. He explained that they were short staffed and finding it hard to cope with orders from the restaurant and also the take away side. If he mentioned this at the start, we would have cancelled our booking and gone elsewhere. The upshot was we arrived at the wedding reception at 10.45 and hankering for a Big Mac on the way home!

Oh dear. Were to start. From not being sat at ur table on time. Wen the place is almost empty. To stage two 45 mins for a starter. And 1hour 45 for finally the mains to arrive. And all for less than mediocre food. At best. Apologies aside and a bill discount. It’s not acceptable very very amateur.

OK so I have to upgrade my review to FIVESTARS given the great service we got on our last visit, and great value too. I asked for a curry«as hot as they can make it» and the chef himself sent out his expression of awe after I had wolfed it down. Great curry house! Don’t even think of going anywhere else in Shawlands…

I went for a meal on saturday 5th May to tha café noor shawlands with my wife after visiting this restaurant twice before and had found the food o.k. on this occasion during my main course i found a piece of glass and a piece of tin foil in my meal, i told the waitress who brought over the manager and said«we dont use this in here«not even are you o.k. or we are sorry, he made me feel as though i had brought the glass in in my pocket and put it in the meal i expected an apology at the very least we asked for and paid the bill and left the restaurant and needless to say we wont be visiting again be warned

This is a very traditional Indian restaurant — all pinks, reds, thick carpets, comfy seats and good quality full beers(both bottled and on draft). Thankfully, it’s not just the décor and atmosphere that are traditional. Yep, you’ve guessed it the food is, as far as I can tell, traditional too. The meat is cooked till it’s tender and well spiced(but not overcooked r spiced); the pakora is light, hot and deliciously tasty with well balanced flavours. Meanwhile, the wine is god value and of a respectable quality. But really, if you’re having a curry, your first choice should be one of the full flavoured, good quality lagers mentioned above. Of course, all of this is made even better by the modest prices and excellent meal deals that are on offer. Furthermore, if you are having a lazy day and cannot face getting into a semi-decent state in order to sit in, you can always phone up for a delivery. Perfect.

Hidden away in the main street, almost blind to the naked eye, the Café Noor is just brilliant — one of the best curry houses in the south side. That old classic Chicken Tikka Masala is always a winner, the pakora is good(but not as good as the New Pearl of India) and the service is warm and unobtrusive. The Noor makes major play of not using any additives and being 100% natural. This means that their curries are filling, enjoyable and don’t come back to haunt you. The take away is fantastic value too. Although one evening when my boyfriend & I got a real craving for chicken pakora and tried to order from here(about 11ish), they initially seemed happy to deliver it. However, upon hearing his address(about 5 minutes drive away) they changed their mind. It was late, but that was disappointing. My boyfriend’s whole family have recently converted to this restaurant for most, if not all family occasions, after being regulars at the Pearl of India for years. I can not stress how significant this development is — big praise indeed.

Café Noor is fantastic, I make a point of taking my friends and family along and everyone loves it. Café Noor serve what I would consider to be the best Indian food in Glasgow, possible even Scotland. The staff are friendly and courteous and the prices are very reasonable. I have been in the kitchen area and it is spotless clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We do not eat Indian food from anywhere else since we found Café Noor. My partner and I took his parents for a meal at Café Noor last year and they decided to order the entire family’s Christmas dinner from them and shall definitely be doing so again this year. The food is consistently excellent: rich aromatic sauces, beautiful succulent meat, a great selection and specific orders are always catered for. I recommend the Tikka Starra or Tikka Garam Masala. They’ll even make you a knock-out traditional Indian Chai if you ask nicely! Keep your eye out for business lunch deals. You’ll leave wondering why you didn’t pay more!

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Glasgow. Discovered by accident whilst on a nightout and couldnt get into our usual nearby. The food is always excellent, brough hot to the table, Their garlic naan is to die for . The staff are always friendly and helpful and will recommend an dish that is suitable for your needs and wants. The chef will make something to your requirements if you want to try something different. Being a veggie isnt any problem to them either. they also do takeaway – we usually phone in our order and arrange to collect. My only gripe is that they dont do itemised bills which can help if you are out in a large group. try it – you wont be disappointed.
