Pretty poor and in the ugliest shopping centre known to exist. I dont think it has had a proper clean since before the smoking ban. The«Fitba» crowd it draws are generally rather off-putting.

Carriages is a nice balance between old man’s pub and a modern Wetherspoon’s type of place; it sells cheap bottles of wine, reduced price doubles and run of the mill pub grub which comes from the Indian takeaway next door. That’s what neighbours are for, after all. It’s pretty cosy with plenty of seating, and gets really busy when the football is on. It’s the only pub for a wee while in Lenzie so I suppose most of the village would be in here at some point over the weekend. Fine for a midweek drink or a pre-drink before heading into town for the bigger and better bars.

You’ll find the Carriages pub in the Millersneuk Shopping Centre in Lenzie. I’m pretty sure Carriages is Lenzie’s only pub, and it comes convieniently with a carpark right outside. Carriages isn’t a huge pub — but it is a little bigger than it looks on the outside, making it a very reasonable size. It’s obviously been smartened up in recent years — as it looks rather smarter than the rest of the Millersneuk Shopping Centre(which homes a grand number of 4 open businesses…). Although carriages is a bit of a man’s pub(Sky Sports included) it’s not unwelcoming at all. The bar staff are reasonably friendly, and generally it’s not too busy. They also do basic pub food. Inside, carriages feels a bit Wetherspoon-y(yes, I did just make that word up). By this I mean that it’s a perfectly nice pub and nicely decorated — just don’t expect anything spectacular or particularly individual.

Lenzie isn’t exactly full of choices, but this is certainly one of the better ones. It is handy for both bus and train. The place itself is quite a rarity for this part of the world, neither downmarket or upmarket, but solidly in the middle, with pleasant staff and a good atmosphere. Only drawback is it can be popular with local schoolies.

Nice friendly local pub in a very nice area of Glasgow called Lenzie. Located only a two minute walk from the nearby Lenzie train station. Also offers indian food from the joint owned indian cuisine take away next door. Good priced drink and good banter.
