I have to agree with the«Meh» sentiments above. Been here a few times and it just seems to be going downhill. Having just finished eating here, the best thing about it was the nice fella who seated us and took our drinks order. The pesto linguine tasted of disappointment(actually, disappointment might have been an improvement. It tastes of nothing) and the garlic pizzette was dry and crunchy. Nobody came to ask how our meal was, so I couldn’t even intimate my disappointment to the staff. Will think twice before coming back for food.

Meh — the words of a previous reviewer but absolutely spot on! Went here last night for some food and wine before going to see the awesome paloma faith at the hydro. Got to say it’s in a great location and I quite liked the feel and décor especially as we sat at the window side so didn’t feel like we were in the SECC as some others would. It was expensive for very average food. I paid £10 for a salad so thought it should be decent sized and filling — what came was a bowl of rocket, small mozarella balls, about six cherry tomatoes with a pesto dressing. It was tasty enough but was actually like a side salad! Not good enough for what you paid. My friend had a pollo picante pizza which was £13 and again just not worth that. It was a thin crispy handmade looking base but the toppings reminded me of a cheap frozen pizza. She donated a slice to me so I didn’t starve to death and it was not great. The only way somewhere like this keeps selling food at these prices is because they have a constantly changing new customer base who give it a try. I would be surprised if they got any repeat food customers! Would only ever go back for drinks which again were not cheap but you expect that at concert venues…

Meh. That’s basically how I would sum this place up. I’ve been here twice, both times to the Bar part and each time I’ve just been left feeling disappointed. The first time I had a burger and honestly it was like something you could get out of a burger van! £11 for a bacon cheeseburger definitely isn’t worth it, especially when you can quite easily walk up to McDonald’s and get something better in my opinion! I came back here only because we wanted to grab something small and quick before a gig at the Hydro and we couldn’t be bothered going elsewhere. The bf ordered soup and I got chips cause I wasn’t very hungry. It would be pretty difficult to mess this up, right? Wrong. The food came really quickly, almost as soon as my bf had come back from ordering it, which was pretty worrying to begin with. The chips were obviously just frozen ones which had been deep-fried and they were ok, but just ok. The soup wasn’t that hot, the mug it was in was barely warm at all and according to the bf, it really wasn’t very good — he hardly ate any of it! The place itself is ok, I see what they’re trying to do with the whole industrial look but there just isn’t really any atmosphere. 2 stars only because the staff were really friendly and nice! Won’t be back here if I can help it. Might try the Kitchen part, but probably only if I didn’t really have any other options.

Very expensive, for very average food. They completely rely on the fact there’s no any other places nearby…

My friend won a Facebook competition and received a voucher for 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine, so along we popped to try out Clydebuilt. I’m not a great fan of the layout; parts of it could have been more sheltered since I felt like I was sitting right in the middle of the SECC concourse, on busy concert nights I can imagine you would feel very hemmed in. My other gripe is that Clydebuilt doesn’t have its own toilets; you have to use the main SECC ones. If you felt the call of nature whilst eating, I imagine your food would probably be cold by the time you went to the loo on a busy concert night. The food itself is really tasty however, my friend and I shared some coca cola ribs to start(we were getting the rest of the meal free so figured we should at least buy something!); these were juicy and smokey and the meal literally fell of the bone. Yum! Next, we both opted to try the Strathdon pizza(Aberdeenshire blue cheese, mozzarella and pancetta). I love blue cheese on a pizza, so rich and adds a little extra something to a pizza I feel. We both found these to be lovely, well-made and not skimpy with toppings. The service was a little so-so. As I mentioned, we both ordered pizzas so we thought we would get some proper knives/cutters to attack these with. How wrong we were, we had to struggle through with just normal butter knives. Messy! They also tried to charge us for the full meal, even though Vicky had clearly stated at the time of booking that she was a competition winner. On the other hand, our server(I can’t remember his name), was very attentive and coped well with a busy night and was very helpful in offering tips and advice on what to try. Overall, a bit meh. Good food but the service and the layout isn’t great sadly.

Situated on north side of river. Won’t go back. £24 for a bottle of wine and £9 for rotten fish and chips. Chips were like match sticks and fish grey and only half a fish. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask! Go elsewhere.
