Great selection of whisky for a small shop which is particularly ideal as they’re open on New Year’s Day and you’ve forgotten to buy a gift for the hosts of the lunch you’re on your way to. Clean and well laid out also.

Ah, I do have a deep fondness for this corner shop. The sullen lady behind the counter and her lack of greeting or smiles, the good spices and tinned beans selection, the retro vending machine out front that doles out cup-​a-​soup when you press the coffee button, the little reduced basket at the end of one aisle that is always stocked with out of date biscuits. When it comes to paying, you won’t be able to use your card, but don’t worry, there’s a cash machine directly outside. Convenient or what?
It doesn’t get much better than this…
