I’ve been going to Gary Thomson’s salon for few years now. After going to a few places in the centre of Glasgow I found the Loreal salon so bad(I actually had to get T&G to sort it out!) and Toni and Guy good but very expensive. After moving down from Aberdeen finding a new hairdresser was a nightmare but all is good now. Never had a problem at Gary’s and everyone are chatty and accommodating. As with anywhere the price depends on who you get. I noticed today there was a sign outside offering £10 stand bys for guys. I’m pretty sure he’s started doing student offers now aswell.

This is without a doubt the trendiest hairdresser in Battlefield! It’s sleek, glossy and very easy on the eyes. It also has an upstairs area which is lovely to sit in as and watch the world go by past the massive glass shop front. However, unfortunately, this place does not have much more going for it other than its looks. After some huffing and puffing from the staff, you can also get taken without an appointment. There is street parking as well as the option of using the nearby Victoria Infirmary’s four hour short stay parking. The prices are also reasonable compared to most hairdressers situated in the city centre and west end of Glasgow. Although, for these reasonable prices you get a hair cut which does not make much of an impact and the service does leave something to be desired.

With the majority of hairdressers in the Southside being aimed at the blue-rinse brigade, Gary Thomson’s is a breath of fresh air! The stylish and modern lay-out of the shop make it appealing to anyone, guy or gal, who happen to be looking for a funky new barnet. I have never been disappointed with my haircut here and you always get exactly what you ask for with no surprises thrown in. The average price for a cut is around £30 but they often have offers on including 50% off cut and colour ensuring that a new look won’t break the bank! Fabulous!
