Tried the crispy shredded beef and veggie chow-mein, both were satisfying in the usual MSG-saturated stodgy British-Chinese sense, though the latter lacked flavour it had a decent mix of vegetables. Free prawn crackers with the reasonably quick JustEat delivery service was a plus.

Ichai is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Glasgow and well worth the trip to Anniesland. On the overcrowded Crow Road, it has a lot of competition in the form of many other eateries, but this one stands out by a mile. I was first taken here by my cousin, who raved about the food from this place and assured us that they served the very best chicken fried rice in town, filled with huge chunks of chicken and big slices of spring onion to bring the fluffy rice to life. As well as offering an extensive takeaway menu, Ichai offers the option of dining in at their beautifully presented restaurant. I have yet to sample the dining in experience at this lovely restaurant but I shall be dropping some big hints in time for Valentine’s day.
