Yummy. It was yummy. 4 people and we all had something different, so trying all 4 gave us a good indication of the standard, and guess what, they were all good. We also shared chicken and fish pakora as a starter. The fish pakora was fantastic, it was like battered fish from the chippy, but better, way better, light batter and tasty cod, mmmmm I feel all warm and fluffy inside thinking about it. I would highly suggest trying this place.

We went here with my brother, his wife and my best mate before the prodigy concert as it was convenient to the sse hydro. It was fantastic!!, now I’ve had more than my fair share of Indian food but this was up there with the best I’ve ever had! I had chicken pakora to start which was made from scratch unlike other Indian restaurants, what a difference in flavour and freshness! The sauce was fantastic with it. For my main I had the South Indian garlic chilli chicken, pretty spicy, flavours off the scale! 3 starters, 5 mains 2 nan breads 7 pints(best pint of kingfisher I’ve ever had!) and 2 cokes for £110. I will return here for any gig I go to now at the hydro. Btw The Prodigy were AWESOME!!!

I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was simply looking for a place close to the Hydro, and this popped up. It’s very contemporary. Built underneath apartments/offices with sweeping windows curving round the restaurant. We booked a table earlier that day and managed to get in no probable considering it was a Friday night, although it was quite busy when we arrived. Our dinky table wasn’t quite big enough even though we were sharing a main meal, the waiter actually managed to knock the popadoms off the table(which they replaced). Their Mango Chutney is a must! Possibly the best I’ve ever had. Their Chicken Korma was… nice. Not the best, but still tasty. The Peshwari Naan was amazing, but could have been improved by not being so blackened on the bottom, it was kinda detrimental to the overall taste. Chutney, popadoms, two pilau rice, one chicken korma, two naan, 2 drinks. £30. It’s very reasonable for it’s location and quality. If I’m back in the area I’d definitely give this place another visit.

Many people swear by Mother India and, don’t get me wrong, I love Mother India, but to me India Quay has it all. It’s in a great location, handy for Finnieston, the town centre and the SECC and the Hydro with a view of the Clyde Arc through its huge windows which let in tonnes of natural light. Its very spacious and comfortable and great for groups; I’ve never been turned away for a table. It’s open from lunch time to late. The staff are friendly, chatty and attentive without ever being pushy. The food. My goodness the food. It goes beyond the standards that you expect to see everywhere and I am doing my best to work my way through the menu, although some dishes are too delicious to only order once, see especially the Lamb Desi and the Chicken Tikka Sarabi. They even offer take out deals(no delivery service as of yet but they’re very speedy if you say you can collect).

Large modern Indian restaurant with reasonable food that is a little overpriced. Would be a good venue for large groups but for smaller parties I’m sure that there are better options in Glasgow.

WOW! They say Indian food in the UK started in Glasgow and the best Indian food, outside India is found in the UK. I’d suggest it’s found at India Quay! I’d gotten a recommendation for another Indian restaurant but we had a large group(12) and when I called, I was rudely told that I ought to call 4 – 5 in advance. But we all wanted Indian and this was just across from our hotel. Fantastic!!! Very accommodating. Great service. Nice atmosphere. And the FOOD… yumm!!! We shared a few tandoori platters, some starter platters and vegetable samosas. Chicken tikka masala is a constant standby for me. But I asked the waiter if he would choose the tikka masala or the king prawn moongo. His response, «if you want bold flavors and heat, take the prawn moongo». Phenomenal!!! Also tasted a friend’s lb that was VERY good. Highly recommended!(So much so that we all returned 2 nights later)

Disappointing. Good ambience, good service, pleasant staff, lovely well kept beer. Superb naan. BUT all food had added sugar, way too sweet. Dullest Daal Makhani I ever had. Won’t be back.

This is the first place we went to dine after moving to glasgow from the US. The service is really good. The ambiance is very nice. Food is yummy. You can get buffet or ala carte. It is expensive, but if you eat out once in a while or are going for a special night out its worth it. I really liked the mango lassi, buy 1 it will be enough for 2 people. The owners are really nice. Would be going back for sure.

This is a nice place in Glasgow for grabbing an Indian lunch buffet. The restaurant layout is nice and has a great view of the tilted bridge. Visited this place with colleagues. The buffet was a nice variety. they had a good collection of appetizers. There was chana masala, chicken kebabs, papad, mushroom soup, salads, pickles and chutneys. They main course was about 2 vegetarian dishes(kind of like veg korma, mix veg type dishes) and the usual chicken tikka masala, lamb masala etc. They didnt have any bread in the buffet — which I didn’t like. We had to order it extra. I am giving this place 3 stars only because — the taste of the dishes was average. The veg dishes were very simple recipes and no specialty dishes(like Malai kofta, Navratan korma which need nuts, special spices etc.) Service — They didn’t take away our plates after the first course and. brought out the bread late. They didn’t even take separate checks, so not so great for business visitors and travelers. Ambiance — The restaurant has a nice view of the bridge and is in a great location. We sat upstairs but noticed that the roof was leaking, and the staff put a bucket on a table to collect the water — which was not fun to see.

First day in Glasgow and our first dining experience in the city. Need I say more, we were back that week 3 more times while we were setting up our new flat. Every time the food was delicious and our taste buds were not disappointed. The staff was very attentive, friendly and even recognized us the second time we were back. It seems to be family owned as the staff did not change the 4 times we were there. The interiors are classy, and they have clean bathrooms. I would recommend this place and will definitely visit again in the near future.

I’ve tried this place a few times and it seems to be steadily declining in quality, not only in terms of food, but in service too. Normally when I have a hankering for Indian food, I’ll head right for Mother India or Bukharah, but given that I have family in town and they wanted an Indian buffet style meal, I felt confident in taking them to India Quay, because the one time I tried the buffet, it was really good.(the other times I’d gone, I’ve ordered from the À la carte menu.) BIG mistake! We went in around 7pm and it was dead. Definitely not like it was the other 3 or 4 times I’d eaten there. It was always so busy. I’m thinking this is a sure sign of the steadily declining quality of food and service. Why go somewhere that has mediocre food and pay a LOT more than the other quality Indian eateries nearby? People are clearly catching on. As I mentioned, last night, we took the buffet option, and despite the place being empty, the starters were all gone and they didn’t seem to be bringing out anything else anytime soon, so I opted for what was left of the Tandoori chicken and onion bhajis, before sitting down to tuck in. The chicken was really dry and bland, and the bhajis were rock hard on the outside, gummy on the inside. More on par with what you would buy from a supermarket, not an Indian restaurant. I didn’t finish either of them and anyone who knows me, knows I never turn down Indian food. A slight emergency meant I had to run home for 10 minutes(luckily I live right next to India Quay) and when I came back, I decided I wanted to have some beer with my main(I never mix alcohol and food normally, but if you’ve never drank beer and eaten Indian food together, get on it! Some weird magic happens and it tastes absolutely divine!) but when I go to the bar, the waitress is sat behind the bar, looking at her phone and paying no attention to me. What are you supposed to do in this situation? Cough loudly? Clear your throat so she notices you? I decided to wait and see how long I could go without her noticing I was there, and it seemed like an eternity. Infact, she didn’t notice me at all until one of the other waiters walked out of the kitchen and asked her if she was going to bother serving me. Right…onto the main. The bar staff bring up my drink and as we’re looking round the«mains» we come to the sad realisation that there isn’t much variety at all. We scoop up some of the meager pickings of whats there and go for naan bread… wait, where the hell is the naan bread? I consider going and asking the staff if they’re going to bother bringing up naan bread when a waiter appears and asks us what kind we want. Ahh, this is how they get you. They make you pay for naan breads separately. It isn’t included in the buffet. My family members and I have different palates, so they opt for a pashwari naan, and I get a garlic naan, and we sit down to eat… We’re patiently sat waiting for our naan bread to come out, even going as far as not eating our food for a few minutes at a time, because we know we’re being charged for them. Eventually after we’ve eaten ¾’s of our meal, the naan breads arrive and what we’re given are overcooked, charred and a bit rubbery. How does this happen in a place that is almost empty? I could understand if the place was busy and they were struggling to keep up with orders and whatnot, but it was empty. That to me reeks of laziness and not caring about giving an enjoyable dining experience. Needless to say, we didn’t eat the rest of our meal, we got up, went to the bar to pay for our meal, got stung for £50 for our miserable dining experience and we left. Never to return.

You have to wonder about this place. It is an Indian restaurant far away from the nucleus of Charing Cross Indian restaurants. However, with the SECC and nearby businesses and apartments, it seems to be doing fine. The staff are nice and pretty accomodating. This used to be our restaurant of choice when I worked nearby. Now that I have stopped working there, I doubt I would come back. The dishes are not terribly exciting but they are done well. But travel a few miles North and you are in the centre of the Scottish Indian Universe. Travel West and you are the second best place for curries. If you are near to these folks and need a curry right away, then this place is ok. You will not be disappointed. But you will not be overwhelmed.

This is always a joy to visit, i think I might be addicted! It is family owned and run and all the food is made on the premises(unlike some of the other well known Indians in Glasgow that make their food in a central warehouse and ship it out to get microwaved) all the food is made to order, so some of the tikka meals can take a while but if you are ordering a starter that won’t bother you. The lamb rogan josh is also fab. There is a good wine list. If you are visiting Glasgow this place is worth a taxi fare to, it will only cost about £4 from city centre. I would recommend booking as it can get very busy at the weekends(especially by the lovvies that waft over from the BBC). There is a buffet served Mon-Thur but the a la carte is lovely, also if you have room share some of the ice-cream its delicious.
