On one of the few occasions when I worked a half day in my previous Admin post further up the road, I met my dad in here for lunch. It’s a fairly large tearoom and sandwich place located on Clarkston Road. The fresh cream and red décor is warm and welcoming, both inside and out, as is their shop canopy(such a lovely touch, that you hardly ever see now). The hot beverages were extremely tasty; so much so that I actually managed to comfortably consume an espresso, tea AND hot chocolate as well as a diet coke and all in the space of about an hour and a half. Whilst the food was freshly prepared and served up quickly in decent portions. The menu does mainly consist of the run of the mill sandwiches, soups and baked potatoes as well as a selection of cakes and tray bakes. But the quality of these is surprisingly good and they undoubtedly make a tasty and fairly healthy lunch option. This is helped by the reasonable prices too. Furthermore, the staff were pleasant and efficient which meant the service was up to a good standard and made the visit that little bit nicer.

This little café is cute as a button! You can spend the afternoon drinking High Tea and feasting on delicious homemade cakes. You can choose from a large selection of different teabags but my favourite is ginger and lemon. As well as tea, coffee and cakes you can also choose from a selection of sandwiches, filled rolls and baked potatoes if you’re feeling peckish! There are various teapots dotted around the place which adds a nice little touch. This small café has a really homely and welcoming feel to it and is a place where you can relax and read the paper or a good book. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. This great little place is well worth a visit!
