Joy, the urban retreat, is full of quirky fashion for probably a student demographic who probably can’t afford thae stuff. So Joy does mens and girls clothes, as well as accessories like bags, jewellery and gifts(henry hoover?). The gifts is an area of the highest degree of quirkyness in the shop, with items that no one really wants as a ‘gift’ like desk vaccum cleaners, or build your own mini(a tiny one of course)? It is probably a shop for trendies, I am not sure I am even one, afgetr feeling a bit like I didn’t belong in this shop. Oh well, I guess I will have to find my style else where, which is not a heartbreaking regret on viewing the prices! Wahh!

With only 21 stores across the UK, mainly found in the London area, this one is a little gem. Selling quirky and ultra fashionable and oh so trendy clothes by reputable brands such as Yumi and a whole range of funny(and sometimes risqué) greetings cards, accessories and novelty gifts, it reminds me a little of a smaller, cosier Urban Outfitters. I have fallen in love with many of the dresses in here and then been heartbroken when I looked at the price tag but you are paying for the quality. The perfect time to go is when they have a sale on or, if you’re a student, they do a student discount on a Tuesday so pop in then. Make sure you try on before you buy as I’ve found the sizes differ greatly depending on the brand. Great wee shop.
