Despite impressions you might get from the name, Kebabish is quite a smart restaurant serving up stunning food in the Southside of Glasgow. Plenty of vegetarian options and there were no complaints from the meat-eaters in our party when they clocked the massive BBQ grill at the door. This is a no-alcohol premises but there is a decent list of soft drinks and you can always get a jug of water for the table too. Why only 2 stars? Service was the huge let down. It took an absolute age for our starters to be cleared, then at least an hour passed before we got our main courses. The hot empty dinner plates that had been brought to our table earlier were a red herring as they were completely cold before we managed to catch someone’s eye and ask if we’d been forgotten. Cue more waiting. Once we got served there were no customary check-backs from the staff to see if we had everything we needed — we were two sets of cutlery short, so while we had food it couldn’t actually be eaten. Doh! The staff did their darnest not to make eye contact so it took a while to get their attention. As it was a double birthday celebration and a bit of a family reunion we began the evening in celebratory mood, but it felt pretty awkward watching diners at the table next door get served two course, leave to be replaced by more diners who got two courses then left. All before we got our mains. Perhaps awkward is understating it. Very disappointing. Loved the food but I regret we didn’t book a table at nearby Ranjits Kitchen instead. A rare bad review from me. Apologies!

I went here last week with my friend Craig, he said he loved the place because you can see your food being made. That part was pretty cool & the place smelled good. The staff really let the place down. There was no emotion or chat. They seemed annoyed we only ordered the mix grill(which was expensive enough) they also came to our table 6 times to ask if we were finished whilst we were eating, we were literally asked by every member of staff, so irritating. I wouldn’t go back as got a weird vibe off of the staff & felt uncomfortable. The food was quite nice, but not nice enough to overcome the weird atmosphere.

We love this place! I usually get lamb bhuna with boiled rice and garlic naan but after sampling Mum’s chicken korma from here, it’s always a toss up now. Obviously they’re quite different but both are very tasty. The korma is very coconutty and smooth with lovely spices and perfectly mild. The bhuna is rich and full of tender lamb pieces with a bit of a kick! Nik loves the ‘baby chicken’ grill which is never baby sized — he gets massive pieces of chargrilled spicy chicken with salad and sauces on the side. We sometimes get takeaway but since they’re always so busy it can take a while so we often collect the food. We’ve never eaten in but it looks pleasant enough and is always full when we’ve collected!

We asked for chicken karahi on the bone but were disappointed with a couple of breast pieces and one measly piece with a bone through it. we then asked for a sprinkling of cheese on a portion of chips for the kids but was point blank told… no the chef wont do that?! Eeehh??? Could you possibly ask the chef? To which our waiter replied… we dont have cheese(even though on the menu as an added extra) sorry we cant do that! taste is good there but a bit overpriced now. seems new team in place. wont bother again.

I meant to write this update a wee while ago as I visited K. Grill again and it was even better than my last visit. This time we shared the Mixed Grill,(chicken, lamb, chicken wings, lamb chops, seekh kebabs ~ a pure meat feast so it was! I felt as though I was back in Tropeiro — feeling the meat sweats…*ooft*), Garlic Chilli Chicken Tikka, 2 Garlic Nan breads and I(stupidly) ordered a side of chips… as if ALL that food wouldn’t be enough! I made an error. The chips were not needed as between us we had SOMUCH food. It was all beautiful too. I have to say that their garlic nan breads are still my absolute favourite ever. So so garlicky, fresh & tasty — you have to try one to believe me how good they are. Kebabish Grill is seriously up there on my ‘Favourite Restaurants’ list. I just wish this place was closer to where I lived! Dang.

There’s not many«Indian» places I would eat in Glasgow, as my mum can cook me up much better stuff at home and for free ! LOL. But this one place that I would recommend without a doubt. The grills they do are spot on and the curry’s are good. I usually go for the mix grill or the fish tikka for starts and it has to be a lamb karahi for my main with roti. I always prefer a roti as I find nans are just overfilling. I also love the Punjabi salad they do. The clientele is mainly people like myself(Scot’s Asians) so that’s always a good indication of a good curry house! Give it a try and you wont be disappointed. Only thing is that there a no alcohol policy in force.

Ive heard good about this place and i live nearby. Been there few times with friends and food never disappointed me. We always share food, as most of the Pakistani restaurant don’t have individual servings. the garlic nann! Is the best with any currys. I can go back for those naans. chicken n lamb karahi and mix grill. Bit pricey

Ive heard quite good reviews about this place and i always walk past it and it always smells amazing! As the name suggests its sells kebabs, curries, pakoras, etc. Me and i my boyfriend decided to share a starter and a main, both were lovely and decent portions considering we shared, the highlight for me was the garlic nann! soaked in garlic butter and freshly made! would probably go back just for that! pros– garlic nann, pakora! Cons– a bit pricey but this wudnt put me off really as you can take anything you dont finish home!

I would absolutely recommend this particular Kebabish: the dining area has two levels, one slightly raised, and the open kitchen ensures that the delicious smells waft across the room. The meat on the bone is exceptional– it is high quality stuff, and the grilling makes it nice and dry, compared to greasier cuts that are the usual fare. The curry sauces are balanced just right: neither too spicy nor bland, and the service is exact and polite. They also do a delicious lassi, which I drunk by the jug. Absolutely stuffed by the meal– and the huge nan bread, which was fluffy and sweet, my own regret was the uncomfortable walk home: my belly was way too full.
