Lovely super friendly staff and a genuinely impressive selection of offerings in my local Londis!
You can get wine and beer on the cheap (cheaper than Tesco local, they’ve got quite a few very drinkable bottles for a fiver or thereabouts!), they almost always have American Spirit tobacco (a nightmare to find around Glasgow!) plus a really good stationary section, a good amount of the regular chocolates/​biscuits/​tinned food you would expect, and probably the best fresh food I’ve ever seen in a corner shop. You can get a whole host of cleaning products, cat/​dog food, ice cream, speciality fancy juices…
I mean, you can buy ALMOND MILK here! Not to mention fresh (and local!) eggs, bacon, sausages and milk, plus a small selection of fruit/​veg but I think they leave the neighboring Andersons to take care of that category. The quality of fresh meat/​dairy here is really outstanding and is far beyond anything I’ve seen in other Londis shops. Staff are very friendly and the prices are lower than you’d find at Spar or Daily Express. While its still a little bit more pricey than big chain supermarkets I’m happy to do my shop here as the staff are so much nicer and you can get almost everything you need. They close at either 9 or 10 (can’t quite remember) and close earlier on Sundays.
In my effort to avoid shopping at Tesco’s as much as possible I’ll be doing more and more of my shopping here.
