While out enjoying a bit of «me» time, I happened upon this little shop out of sheer desperation for an eyebrow wax. I’m making myself out to be a hairy mess, but anyone who has any sort of thickness to their brows will understand what I’m talking about. I popped in and was told it would be about 10 minutes as the lady who did eyebrows was busy with another customer. I was ok with this. The shop is quite small and with little ventilation, it smelled heavily of all the chemicals involved with getting your nails done. Aside from that, the ladies in the shop were nice and included me in conversations while I waited which was quite unexpected. When I went in for my brow treatment, I instantly suggested I get my brows waxed as that’s just the norm for me. The lady suggested I try ‘threading’ my brows, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Let me tell you, it hurts a hell of a lot less than having wax ripped off your face at warp speeds. I wanted my brows thinned out, which didn’t happen, but for the £7 I paid, it was well worth the job done. The one thing to note if going into Nailzone to have your brows done, make sure you have cash as it’s a separate entity with separate a cash register. I didn’t have cash on me, but luckily was able to pay with my card at the ‘nail’ register.

Went there a couple of weeks ago, lovely place to just sit relax and gab away as the staff are so easy going and friendly, great nail selections and colours, comfy seats and a nice bright atmosphere.

This is a great little nail bar tucked away on Queen Street, offering everything from a basic file and polish, to full blown acrylic stripper style extensions. They offer a nice smart looking french manicure, for only £15, which looks lovely and groomed, and lasts for around a week. A great wee place if you fancy treating yourself, plus they sell gift vouchers too, which makes a good gift for your mum or the lady in your life.

As far as nailbars go, nailzone is a safe bet. I don’t go very often to get my nails done, only for special occasions, but last week I decided to treat myself. I chose a classic french manicure — and I really can’t complai(I’d only been once before with my sister, watching her get her nails done). The girl definitely knew what she was doing, so I was happy, and my nails looked fab at the end of it. The only downfall? Her chat. It varied from annoying chat about holidaying in Magaluf, to none at all/awkward silence. Oh well, you can’t get everything in life though, can you?
