This gastropub is by far the best in Glasgow. The affordable prices, good food, and great service made this little discovery quite a treat. Rick was a phenomenal waiter/bartender, and made sure my family and I were well attended to. Thanks for the excellent service and for an unforgettable evening! The Neighbourhood Bar & Kitchen is the place to be!

Yuummm… the kitchen is good. The service was also really great this time, which bumps this up to 5 stars for me. Love the atmosphere, menu, and the cosy but open way the tables are set out with a couple of booths. Found out they do take away too which is so worth it for those delicious pizzas and curly fries.

I’m pretty shocked about this place as the outside does not do this place justice. my boyfriend and a few of our friends had spent the day at a sneaker festival in Finneston and were looking for a bite to eat. We tried an establishment down the road, but were told the wait was going to be an hour. An hour too long, we decided to head up the road. I mentioned that Neighbourhood does 2 for 1 deals on their burgers and pizzas… that was all I needed to say, and in we went. Not really knowing what to expect, we were all pretty pleased with the feel of this place. Very modern, with dark gray walls and cozy booths, tables and sofas to sit at. We decided to take a booth towards the front of the pub and were quickly handed menus. As it mentions in the menu that if you’re going to partake in the 2 for 1 deal, a payable drink must be purchased. Assuming I was going to do the 2 for 1 deal when I ordered a water with a lemon, I was briskly told I would have to purchase a drink before I left. A little rude, but I understand they need to make their money somehow. They guys ordered pizzas and burgers, and they looked delicious. They went down a treat and they were all happy. I, having a limited amount of food I can eat for health reasons, had one option available on the whole menu, and that was the warm chicken, bacon and avocado salad sans dressing. To be honest, I was pretty impressed with the salad that was brought out to me. Fresh mixed greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, plain chicken(which was perfect because i can’t eat any sort of sauces or coatings), loads of bacon and avocado. It was the perfect size and with a bit of pepper on top, it went down a treat. I would have loved to sink my teeth in to chips and BBQ sauce with burgers and pizza, but alas, I’m not allowed. No worries, I left full and pleased with my salad. This is a cute little place, very unassuming from the outside. There is a little section to the side that would be perfect for a group of people celebrating anything. In shortly after us was a party for someone turning 30. I could see me and my friends using that room at some point for something or another! I’m sure, either way, we will be back!

Have eaten here a few times, both at lunchtimes and in the evening. Service is always good and the prices are really reasonable, with excellent value specials, including regular deals on wine. Food is good value for money, decent standard pub food.

I decided to try this place today for lunch and I’ve got to say after reading all the Unilocal reviews I was pretty excited to try it out but I am afraid I was left seriously disappointed. The menu which looked pretty nice with a good selections of salads, burgers, pizzas and pannini’s. Their brunch menu is only available on a Sunday… pretty poor most places do it all weekend. I was completely taken with the idea of the breakfast pizza which they said they could do for me today but in the end I choose to go for the warm chicken, bacon and avocado salad with honey and mustard dressing and a side of curly Cajun fries. What I was presented with what a chicken caesar salad?! I said to the waitress that it wasn’t what I ordered and she immediately took it back to the kitchen and in due course I was presented with the correct dish. While I was waiting for my salad I checked out my nephews pizza and my husbands steak pie, both of which were clearly from a frozen packet, the steak pie especially looked like the type you get at a football stadium. My Cajun curly fries were just normal cheap McCaines curly fries. Given the surroundings I was expecting something that was a bit more modern and fresh than stuff from the freezer. What my salad arrived it was a huge portion but it was honestly rank! Positive first the bacon what nicely crisp and the honey mustard dressing was nice enough. The negatives — the chicken was obviously pre cooked and from a packed. The leaves were really nasty tasting not a beautiful mixed leave salad like I was expecting. The salad had cheap sliced bitter-tasting tomato and the avocado was rock hard. yuck! Oh and when it arrived it had a short black hair in it! I ate about half the chicken and the bacon and left everything else, I did think it was slightly odd that the waitress when she saw my plate was still nearly fully never asked what was wrong with it. We had planned to have a dessert but needless to say we abandoned that idea pretty quickly and headed to Cottonrake to get a croissant for my lunch and a cake as a treat to forget the disastrous lunch. The bar was pretty busy by the time I left with people ordering food, I should point out everything looked like it was cooked from frozen but obviously there are some people who don’t mind that. Such a disappointing lunch which I was fairly meh! about

Ive been in here a couple times, and each time ive particularly enjoyed how relaxed the vibe of the place is. The staff are really friendly, i like how they make a point of saying«hello» and«goodbye» to you upon entering/leaving. You don’t always get that. Upon my most recent visit, i never opted for the 2 for 1 burger/pizza deal that seems very popular. Not because i didn’t want to, but i had chicken in the fridge needing used so was planning on having that later. Anyway, i was a tad peckish so shared some sides with my co-drinkers. We had the curly fries, onion rings and garlic bread. All pretty average, but tasty. They have this offer on at the moment where you can get a bottle of wine for a tenner which i thought was alright considering pub prices. We shared a bottle of the white wine, i cant remember what kind of white it was but it was really easy to drink, quite like a sauvignon but dryer! It looked like the majority of the drinks prices were quite cheap too with pints coming in at £2. Cheap booze and good vibe, what more do you want?!

Not the biggest burger fan in the world but as far as the selection goes and the price it’s pretty good!!! The menu is laid out in a very easy to read fashion with quirky graphic design, the size of the menu it’s self if pretty good as well(A3)! I ordered the Cajun chicken burger which came with handcut chips and seasonal greens on the side. The burger was to die for! Lightly fried in a battered rosemary and lemon coating was just perfection on a plate! Two burgers and two drinks came to £16, not bad for two lunches and the sit in experience. Parking was a wee bit of an issue for this place, so anyone thinking of driving here you need to park in a nearby residential street! The only thing which is making this review 3* instead of a 4* is that the bar/restaurant was freezing!!! And I like to be a good roasty toasty temperature! Would definitely go back another time though!!!

I love me a burger, and what a burger Neighbourhood offered me! Colin and I decided to go in here based on a suggestion from the CM himself! We went in for lunch and took advantage of the 2 for 1 burger deal. Our incredibly friendly and efficient waitress seated us upon entry and took out drink orders. I decided I’d go for the ‘Hood Burger(obviously if I’m not paying I’ll go for the most expensive one on the menu, ha!) and Colin ordered the Cajun Chicken burger. Both were made and delivered to the table within 10 minutes of ordering; that’s good service! The ‘Hood Burger was absolutely amazing(see photos for a lovely picture of it!). Onion rings, BBQ sauce, a nice thick beef patty, bacon and cheese. Holy God of Food, yum! We devoured out burgers, which only came to £12.95 thanks to the 2 for 1 deal. I would 110% recommend this place to anyone wanting an incredibly well made burger, better than most places I’ve tried.

My Mum was through visiting and we’d decided to grab a bite to eat. After being unable to decide for ages, we happened to walk past Neighbourhood. So in we went! It was quite busy, Saturday afternoon and all, but we were seated and served promptly. My Mum ordered the Parma Ham, Rocket and Ricotta pizza, I went for the Salami, Chorizo and Pepperoni. Both arrived, looking delicious, within about 15 minutes, which is pretty good going for fresh pizza. I saw a few people eating burgers, and initially wish I had ordered one. But then I tucked into my pizza, delicious. Fresh, generous toppings, crispy base and crusts. My Mum echoed these sentiments. The bill arrived — two pizzas, a pint, a glass of white and two espressos — £22.35. Absolute bargain! I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here and won’t hesitate to go back!

Everyone else went ‘meh’, I went ‘Yay!’. I shall explain. So we(fellow Unilocaly type peoples and I) popped in here for the sake of research and the fulfillment of our quest to find the most kick ass burger in all of that there Glasgow… oh and also to take avantage of the 2−4−1 burger/pizza deal. So, with beers ordered I plumped for the ‘Hood Burger, which included onion rings, bbq sauce, cheese and bacon(?). was there bacon on it? I’m gonnie say aye, but don’t hold me to that. Anyway, the burger(s) duly arrived to our 8 strong table in swift time and, pleasingly, at around the same time, so nobody was sitting like billy no dinner waiting for theirs to arrive. On tucking in to ra ‘Hood, I was really pleased to find a proper steak mince burger, pink in it’s finish, allowing the flavour of the meat to shine through. One thing on this though. A burger done like this is really a taste thing and could really put some folks off. When ever I’ve eaten a burger cooked in this way, it’s usually been done to order, which is something that was not offered here. Perhaps something they should look at. Apart from that point, the burger was def to my liking. Not spectacular, but very tasty indeed, with proper chips that were both fluffy and crispy. Now I suppose the most important aspect of this visit, besides the quality of the burger, was the price. On the 2−4−1 offer(running all day, everyday) the burgers and pizzas come in at around a fiver a person, which for the quality of the produce, service and venue, is just outstanding value. If I was paying the regular price, I might not be so enthusiastic! I liked it. There I said it. Good grub, nice décor and swift, pleasant service. Yet another kick ass biz in my fave part of sunny Glastown.

Jumped on here for a review update only to find I haven’t done an initial review! Been here a few times for drinks, including the world cup last year when they open up the joint to spill outside. There’s a few bars on this street including the Ivy and now Pourhouse who have outdoor seating. It’s ace! Nice décor with friendly staff is the first impression where bizarrely, they have candy behind the bar. Not just nuts. candy. Oh, and Wasabi peas. Good selection at the bar, with live sport and news in a nice relaxed vibe. Proposed update was to mention the food which I sampled last night for the first time. Perma-promos in the shape of 2 for 1 burgers and pizzas which is excellent value for money(more the burgers than the pizzas). Served 12 – 8, this is my new joint for when I can’t be arsed making dinner. A recommended bar on Argyle Street, especially summertime!

You know what? I really like Neighbourhood! Sure, its indie, brown, kitschy on the inside, just like most bars in this area. But all these bars complement each other and to be honest, Gazelle could use a bit of Neighbourhood’s warmth as I really wasn’t impressed with the lack of atmosphere last time I visited! Out of the two, Neighbourhood has a better selection of beers and food, even if it is marginally more expensive. But they do 2 for 1 pizzas which are pretty decent! They have a nice selection of European beers that are always super chilled, not to mention comfy booths to kick back in. I like their green stripey chairs and cosy corners by the window. It’s nice in the winter, but Neighbourhood comes into bloom in spring, it’s remarkable! The good weather does it so much favours. The windows are adaptable so the bar is fully open on a nice day, and the whole seating area within exposed as chairs and tables are moved outside. Not only does it bring Neighbourhood a hell of a lot more custom but it makes it stand out as it resembles A Parisian bar in the theatre district rather than an understated Glaswegian bar. During the better weather it’s always healthily busy, and chitter chatter can be heard from Neighbourhood two blocks down. Admittedly I much prefer this place to Gazelle, but even if I hadn’t been disappointed with my service there I’d still think Neighbourhood was a great bar. Sure, it has competition in the form of Lebowskis and the brilliant Brass Monkey, but this bar along with the others have transformed this area of Argyle St, giving a variety of customers more choice.

This end of Argyle Street is becoming one of my favourite areas of Glasgow to go out. Tons of good bars and restaurants have popped up lately, which I have taken the liberty to explore Neighbourhood is not one of my favourites though. The interior is nice, if not pretty generic, but it was the food that resulted in my two star rating. I ordered a pizza from the menu of limited vegetarian options and it was just… meh. Off the top of my head I can think of at least ten places in Glasgow that serve a better pizza. In fact I can think of about ten places in a one mile radius of Neighbourhood where I could find a better pizza. In a neighbourhood choc a bloc with pubs and restaurants, Neighbourhood is not the one to stop at.
