Jack’s is pretty much the usual sandwich shop, and perhaps a tad overpriced in some regards(or maybe it’s me being too American and expecting more filling in my fancy, cutely-named baguette…). However, they get substantial points for doing probably the best coffee I’ve had in my immediate neighbourhood. If I had to go out for a cup every day, they’d probably be my first bet, bar none. Also, the interior’s rather cute. Twee, but the tables and dishes make up for that.

After passing this place about a million times, I finally gave it a go recently, and can report that it’s pretty much your usual sandwich /panini /baked potato affair, but the TGI-lite American style décor makes it just that little bit more fun to sit in than other sandwich bars. Cracking caramel shortcake, worth a visit for that alone.

a great place to get tasty, reasonably priced sandwiches when you’re out and about on the southside. not much more to say than that
