I’ve been going here for 5 months now to get shellac manicures and pedicures. Ashley is my nail tech and she is seriously THE best! I look forward to our appointments every two weeks.
The atmosphere:
This is a super hip salon that offers a wide variety of services (hair, nails, makeup, tanning, waxing, massage, etc). They play rad music throughout the space and its always mashups that you want to download yourself. Upon checking in at the desk they take your order for tea or coffee and get it from the shop next door.
The service:
I have never left disappointed. They offer 50+ CND shellac colors and about 12+ different glitter options. The possibilities are endless. Ashley is a pro at what she does and has an awesome memory too. We also pick up right where we left off the previous time.
The prices:
Shellac manicures or pedicures are only £20 and that includes the removal or your current polish. That’s an absolute steal, especially in the West End. On Tuesdays they run a special were nails are 50% off! £10 for nails or toes is unheard of! (Tuesdays definitely fill up fast! Booking at least 7 days prior is necessary.) This is a cash only salon too.
Overall, I love Number 659 and will continue to be a loyal client of theirs!

I was lucky enough to snaffle a cheeky pre-​Crimbo manicure here after a friend recommended them to me. I contacted the salon via Facebook and they responded pretty quickly, managing to fit me in first thing on a Wednesday morning. I arrived at 10am and they were just opening up the shop so I was greeted & had a wee seat before getting my manicure. Whilst waiting I was asked if I would like a coffee or tea and I said a cappuccino would be lovely and when it arrived it was very good coffee indeed. I’m not sure where it’s from (someone popped out along Great Western Road to get them) but I do know it’s Dear Green coffee so that explains why it’s so good and nicer than your average salon coffee.
I feel bad that I now cannot remember the name of the nail technician that done my manicure BUT she was very lovely indeed! Having had a few awful manicures in the past (putting me right off years ago from getting them…) I had my toes crossed (as I couldn’t cross my fingers!) that this place would be a winner… I needn’t have worried. They only use CND Shellac here so you know right away you’re not going to get a shoddy quality manicure. With a great selection of shades I decided to play it classic and go for bright red. If you’re a fan of nail art & glitter then I saw some amazing Sara Hill glitter pots to give your nails some shimmy and I’m sure the talented ladies here would do all kinds of wonderful designs should that be your wish.
Not only did I get a brilliant manicure but as it was my first visit to the salon I also got 20% off my manicure, so it only cost me £16! Because of that I decided to treat myself to some Sara Hill make up products (they’re one of the very few places to sell it) and because I bought 2 items they threw in a free glitter primer, bonus! I was super chuffed. I walked out with my head high & my nails on show. Lovely staff & a brilliant salon.

Love this salon with its fresh look and skilled employees. Caroline is an amazing hair stylist and really takes the time to get to know you, your look and then works with you to come out looking fab! Ashley has done my eyebrows which turned out fab. She also does my nails and they always turn out great. I would def recommend popping in and checking the place out.
