Good italian option in the city centre when you don’t want to spend so much money. They have lunch menu for 6,95£ one course or 11,95£ if I’m not wrong for 2 courses. We ordered some pizzas with few toppings and they were ok but not best pizza ever. The service was a little slow, since there were only another table with people having lunch. The staff was also ok, but one of them came to our table to correct our pronunciation but he wasn’t so kind… It was weird… I know I’m not native but that wasn’t necessary. I’ll come back for the same purpose as this time, cheaper menu in town.

So, I hate Olives. I really don’t like the taste, cant stand the smell. I also really don’t like Red Wine. Turns out I just needed to go to O’ Sole Mio to learn to enjoy both! Had a few great meals here, both pizza and pasta are very good and was the location of my first foray into the world of Olive eating which I actually enjoyed. I can now officially say that O’ Sole Mio is the reason behind my growing olive addiction, i blame them entirely!

We stumbled upon O’ Sole Mio entirely by accident after cutting down a side street post-concert at the Royal Conservatoire. It’s never been on my radar and I can’t think why since its just moments away from Buchanan Galleries, on Bath Street. It looked rather lovely when I peaked through the window, so in we went. The menu looked just the thing for a dreich Sunday afternoon, full of warm hearty italian comfort food and budget-friendly too(two courses for less than a tenner). I had the mozzarella and sugo to start and double checked that the tomato sugo was properly vegetarian. It should be and it was! We sat close to the open kitchen in a cosy booth and watched the chef prepare our pizzas to order. As part of the two course deal you could have two toppings of your choice on a margherita pizza. I opted for olives and capers. You can never have too many olives! As an extra we ordered some fries which came skin-on, chunky and utterly delicious. The pizza was pretty decent though it could have done with another minute in the oven but thats a personal preference. Apparently the lasagne was very good and generously doused with freshly grated parmesan. This place is an independent family run concern and the service was warm and friendly. They’ve been there for 50 years. Who knew! Well, I do now :) Free wifi, though good company meant I didn’t really need it. Worth a try.

First full meal in Glasgow, and we came here based on the reviews. We were greeted at the front by a young waiter, but an older gent sitting at the bar seemed to tell him where to seat us in Italian. I think. We stuffed our face on a shared antipasti plate. I had seafood linguini with just the right flavor and plenty of shellfish and calamari. He had some chicken wrapped in ham with cheese type thing which looked rich and delish. Decent selection of wines and a calm, laid back atmosphere. We’re still suffering jet lag so we might head there for breakfast when it opens!

Had time to kill before seeing a film at the nearby Cineworld and we had rumbly tums so headed here for dinner. Having only an hour to spare we skipped starters and went straight to our mains of penne all’ arrabiata con vodka and pizza primavera. My pasta was delicious, cooked to perfection and full of flavour, and went down well with a large glass of red! The pizza, fresh from the wood fired oven, also got appreciative nods and ‘mmmm’s! I helped myself to a sneaky slice and it was very good! The service was pleasant and attentive.

We’d love to give this restaurant more but there was just something not quite right about our experience the night we went. It was a birthday dinner with four people and we all were slightly deflated with our main meals, but the food was good quality and cooked well. The best things about it were the house Pinot Grigio and the starters. Although a simple starter, my bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had. The senior staff were very good and the younger waitresses were efficient. We did have to wait quite a bit of time to get the bill and pay, but we weren’t in any hurry. I would definitely return and try something else on the menu. Top tip; a window seat might be alluring but it’s not ideal in winter. Most of us felt cold throughout the meal. Aim for a table further up the back until the clocks change!

I spotted this place across from the shop when we opened but didn’t venture across until recently. Such a shame it took so long as this is a cracking wee Italian. The service is brilliant from the moment you step into the place which is stylishly modern inside — a surprise from the fairly unassuming exterior. Great food, reasonable prices in a comfortable and relaxing environment. What more do you want?

Lovely family atmosphere, some of the best Italian food in Glasgow and very reasonably priced — you will love it here. Despite its out-of-the-way location this is one of if not the best Italian restaurant in Glasgow. I suggest the calzone!

Great value for money and one of the best Italian restaurants in Glasgow. None of the fancy shmancy stuff just great food and friendly service. Pre-theatre is brilliant deal and portions are huuuge(especially the pizza pasta combo).
