Otis B Driftwood is a relation of Rufus? I wonder if this was a long lost cousin, but pretty close, just being next door to Rufus. It has much the same crowd, but alot less of them. In Rufus you will be crushed by very warm people, but in Otus you can breath and the music seems a little quieter. This by no means must give you an impression that it is quiet, it is actually very very loud. The drinks prices are not cheap at all, you will be asked around £2.20 for a vodka mix, and it just seems to go up rom there.

This sight of this place filled me with dread. I have experienced quite a few too many weekend nights cramped into Rufus T Firefly for birthday drinks and the like. While, I love Rufus during the day or indeed weekday nights; during the weekend it gets packed to the rafters, unbearably loud and it even seems more expensive(weird right? I reckon I’m just getting old before my time…). However, upon visiting Rufus’ wee brother next door(though, you can reach it through a tiny door placed at the top of two carpeted steps at the back of Rufus) I was very pleasantly surprised. It is much quieter than Rufus — even during the weekend nights! Less busy and a lot more laid back and relaxed. You can easily get served at the small bar, there is a pool table which becomes available fairly quickly whenever I’m in and the staff are ultra friendly. It still retains that rock pub feel and the music is good. The atmosphere is very relaxed and almost homey, but you can also get a Jagermeister for you sins. Yum. Similarly, you’ll fit right in here can if you’re in an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt or a little black dress with fishnets and big boots. Defo my kind of place.

One of those bars that likes to look seedier than it really is, this is mostly popular with students or recent students who are trying to get away from the student scene, or anyone with a taste for rock music. It is not too loud, though, and can be a pleasant place to spend the evening: not too far from the hub of the action, but nice and courteous compared to some of its neighbours, with a self-selecting ambiance that keeps it friendly. Mind you, I hate being anywhere where the staff are so obviously much cooler than I am.
