Great park nice place to walk round and keep your eyes peeled for the Highland Cows. Inside the park is the burrell collection which has a café. It also boast a really good off road cycle track which has three levels of difficulty.

Wow, what a lovely park. Been here once before(pre Unilocal!) to visit the Burrell but this visit was a foraging expedition and we weren’t disappointed. The forest walks are fantastic and even though we were on the look-out for berries and nuts, the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings was not lost on us. Back for more soon…

Great shout for a cycle that is not composed of a myriad of buildings and traffic lights. And if I had a dog, I would take it here for a good stretch of the old legs. Parks I feel are something which are disappearing, and becoming less of a consideration for everyone who is fooled into spending the good majority of their time in pubs, in front of the TV and dining out. But what happened to going for a nice relaxing and health boosting jog at the park, through a bit of greenery for a change. Great place to take your bike, or your trainers, or in fact your four legged friends. However I have tested roller blades and this is not the correct terrain. Take that from someone that knows, I was stranded in a pair of chunky ones forcing them to turn on this rubbled surface. That was what you call burn in the thighs. Never again.

A perhaps lesser known, or at least used, aspect of Pollok Country Park are its good selection of woodland trails and riverside walks. These weave and wind throughout the park and are accessible from all ends/sides. Thus, you do not need to go out of your way in order to start at certain points or to come across particular sections of the trails/walks that are of interest. In fact, many of the trails and walks are specifically designed in order to deliberately take their users through, or to, places of interest(e.g. the Burrell Collection). This means that even the dolliest person is likely to witness something note worthy on any trail or walk. The mixture of routines also means that those who prefer a stroll following the White Cart river can do so while also enjoying passing Pollok House, the bridges that go over the White Cart and the golf course amongst other things. The other two major bonuses of these are also that they are 1) FREE and 2) this is the perfect time of year to take advantage of this. It’s warm, but not too warm. It’s surprisingly dry. It’s reasonably quiet(due to the majority of folks being at work/school/college etc) and there are even some daffodils out.
