I find myself in here a little too often — mainly on the way to college on the days I’ve forgot to make lunch and need something fairly healthy! As far as a chain of sandwich/coffee shops I find it pretty good, this particular branch can be quite busy but even at busy times they still serve you quickly. As far as the food goes I’m fairly certain they all do the same job so there’s nothing individual about this one. I used to think Pret was a little overpriced, but actually for something you know has(from what it seems anyway) fresh, good quality ingredients its not bad. I’d rather pay a few pound more for something better than your average Tesco meal deal! I think the options are quite good and they have something for everyone, from the super health conscious to someone who just wants a BLT sandwich and crisps. The hot drinks are also better value than Starbucks/Costa so its even worth stopping by for your morning coffee. The actual décor and place itself is nothing special. I wouldn’t choose to sit in, it’s usually overcrowded and not the cleanest. But for a takeaway lunch that’s better quality/healthier than some, it’s not a bad option!

Some days a warm Swedish meatball wrap is what’s needed on a cold afternoon. Being on Sauchiehall St, this one is pretty busy. But the service is swift and the staff manage to keep it tidy, just don’t expect a table during the lunchtime rush. Coffee is good and ground in store. And try the coconut macaroons — expensive at £2.50 for a small bag of six, but so tasty! While there’s no shortage of sandwich shops at this end of town, this one is a pretty decent. With Pret the quality is consistent across its UK branches, I’ve never been sure how they manage this.

Thought I’d give this review a wee update, since this Pret is super close to my new office and I’ve now gone vegan. The coffee in here is great, always pop in for a soya latte as a treat on a Monday. I haven’t paid attention to whether they charge more for soya milk in here, it doesn’t mention this on the menu, will be sure to ask next time I’m in. The change their soups/pots every day and sometimes have vegan options. The veggie sushi protein pot is always available and is vegan too. In love with their ‘Super Greens’ sandwich at the moment. Malted wholegrain bread, avocado, kale, spinach, red Peppers, toasted almonds and Pret Seasoning. Seriously tasty and healthy. I have my eye on the falafel mezze box at the moment, that’s next on my list to try. Their selection of juices and smoothies are fantastic but the bottles are rather small for the price you pay. Pret isn’t cheap, but you’re paying for quality and this is why I don’t really grudge paying a little extra. There’s not much on the menu at breakfast time for vegans. Their porridge, compote and pretzels do appear to be free from animal produce though, if any of those tickle your fancy.

I remember an old friend of mine use to love Starbucks across the road from here. I use to wave to him from the window of here while he was in Starbucks. Yes. It’s that close. I always liked Starbucks coffee, but loved the food better in here. I’m sitting here with a White Americano, extra strong. It’s yucky because I wanted it strong:) cups look great, with a built in plastic stir thing. Coffees are miles smaller Than Starbucks. It’s a nice good size. I don’t see any sockets. The place looks really clean. And you can just watch the world go past. It cost me £2.05 and I was served by a lovely smiling«Zoe H» I’m having fun watching 2 Glasgow City council staff pretending to work, looking at a Motorbike:)

Pret is a well-known branch, for a good reason. I felt like a fresh, tasty salad for lunch, and in such a case Pret is the place to go. The atmosphere in the shop a bit noisy, so I nearly always go with takeaway.

You can’t really go wrong with Pret. It’s got a good selection of food and the majority of it is tasty. I would say the brand in general had lost it’s hip image though. It’s just another type of fast food really these days. But like lots of other fast food joints, the food can still taste good. My favourite thing is the hot Swedish meatball wrap which tastes bloody awesome. But comes in at 650 calories so I tend to feel a pang of food guilt when eating it for a midweek lunch. Alongside it I have a can of pret fizzy apple juice, which again is nice and is a good change from having coke or diet coke. This location is pretty average. Good for people watching. Really busy, and reasonably well cleaned by the staff. Just don’t sit near the toilets as the door is locked and the customers need a pub code to get though. After the 10th person tries pulling the door as hard as they can, ignoring the big sign. Then tries a random number and is shocked when they can’t guess it! Then asks me if I know the code. You begin to wish you had sat elsewhere.

This is one of the only places I can count on when traveling in the UK to be consistent with my expectations. Lovely environment, small, but well thought out selection, and attentive staff.

After a long walk through town I wanted a small lunch, so I decided to go to Pret on Sauchiehall Street as I’d seen it all over town and had been meaning to try it since I got to Glasgow. Always seems so busy inside, especially with tourists since this location is right in the center of town. We waited in line for a couple minutes and grabbed some ready made food from the self serve counter. I decided on a butternut squash & sage soup and a classic super club sandwich. The soup was lovely, full of flavor, gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. The Club was a bit too drenched in mayo but the chicken bacon combo with the malted wholegrain bread was nice. Once we had our food, finding a seat was difficult because it isn’t a very big place, with minimal seating. At first we had to squeeze into two small stools at the window before a table opened up in the back room. Even when moving to a table, it seemed to be very cramped and impossible to have a private conversation without the next two tables hearing you. Although the food was tasty, I felt that it was over priced for the quality of the grub. Cool spot but look for it as a to go lunch or when it isn’t too busy.

Pret continues to save the world from depressing supermarket fare like soggy sandwiches, tired grapes, and elderly brownies(okay, the brownies were salvageable thanks to a bowl, a microwave, and a bottle of Bailey’s, but I shouldn’t have to get drunk to eat dessert. Wait, did I really say that?) My current favorite recovery meal at Pret is salad, baguette, and peppermint tea. Big thanks to the efficient, cheerful staff for rescuing this fool from Sugar Hangover Hell.

Even with the location of this Pret being sandwiched in between four other high street coffee shops I will always go to this one. The consistency of the good customer service is second to none with hard working friendly staff. If there is ever a queue is goes down almost immediately. It doesn’t matter if you come in at 8am or 6pm the staff will always greet you with a smile and offer a hand. The food is freshly made every day and there is a bakery in store meaning everything is fresh and tasty. You must try the almond croissants, they are amazing! I go here most days I am in work and think it is the best high street coffee chain offering good food, good service and competitive prices.

Typical Pret store, with good selection of hot and cold food. As always, tastes fresh and ready made; though there is a premium to pay! The hot wraps are often a good shout, though can disappear somewhat quickly. Staff are quite friendly and the seating options are not too bad. All in all, its exactly what you’d expect of a Pret.

Ok, so I’m not really breaking any new ground on this one. No boats nor envelopes shall be pushed or pushed out. No shouting from the roof tops or challenge laid down to the status quo(oh oh, we’re in the army now). Nah, nothing like that, but I do wish to share with you a recent realisation. Whilst the large the coffee chain that starts and ends with an S, with the name of a young male dear in the middle of it, is the automatic choice for many when it comes to topping up the ol’ energy levels when in town, it’s fairly well accepted among folks in the know, that the coffee is mince(not actually meat, but boy would that be funny). This is something I’m becoming more and more inclined to agree with, having sampled much better coffee at a number of newer Glasgow coffee shops. I will however give them there due, that what they offer is consistency and more importantly, availability. These being the main two reasons why I usually find myself in town with a wee white takeaway cup with a green chick emblazoned on the front… but wait. Fed up with handing money to the same multi national conglomerate, I decided to hand my hard earned pennies over to… eh, well a different one and the result? Well, I now know where to pick up a decent flat white when I’m in the town and on the march. Priced at a fairly reasonable £1.99, it’s good enough to allow me to drink it free of sugar(always a good sign)… so yeah, it’s an ‘aye’ to the affirmative! You may now go about your daily business, safe in knowledge that nothing has changed really. Just that some random wee dude from Glasgow will now be purchasing his bean juice from a different place… and that he likes it. Turkey.

First, the name of this place is the initial barrier of entry. «It is mahn-jay madam. Please put the hickory bacon BLT down and leave» Calling it «main-ger» will get you evicted — at least it should. In my vivid imagination. Higher priced sandwiches and a coffee from a steam-emitting barista-staffed Italian Monster. Add 50% on the price from a Greggs feast and that is what you will be paying. Of course, no one has ever mispronounced Greggs.

I like Pret a lot. I used to come in here for lunch when I worked close by, and although I don’t frequent this place too often now that I’m not working in town I still appreciate how good the service is. Pret’s food is nice, with everything from granola yoghurt breakfast pots to fancy wraps on the menu. They have some deliciously fresh fruit and do a great cup of tea. But what makes this branch of Pret stand out from all the neighbouring coffee chains on the street is its staff. They are all super efficient, great at communicating with each other and exceptionally friendly. Everytime I’ve visited I’ve seen some familiar faces as well, which is a good sign since they obviously don’t have as high a turnover as other customer service jobs. Sometimes you see the manager out working on the counter as well which is encouraging since everyone evidently works as a team and cares about their job here(or at least, that’s the positive impression that comes across to the customer). I’ve always had good service and good food, I’d highly recommend it!

I absolutely love Pret and find it really difficult choosing what I want. Will it be a sushi box? Wiltshire ham and cheddar cheese baguette? A tasty panini? Or my favourite cheese ploughman’s baguette which is truly the cream of the crop. Well, I don’t get a choice in this branch of Pret as every time I’ve been out they’re sold out of all the good stuff and all that left is an old tuna and cucumber roll. I guess it’s because this Pret has a bigger seating area than the other Prets in town so is therefore is more popular but it’s so rubbish not getting a choice and therefore I usually head to the branch on Gordon Street instead. Even though it’s a much smaller branch — they have a much bigger selection. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very nice to have a wee sit down here and the staff are always friendly too I just wish they had more of a selection.

Pret cunningly picks up from the customers who want to avoid junk food, offering sushi– not bad, but rather bland– interesting sandwiches and lovely fruit drinks. The orange juice is both tasty and a good price, but the coffee is a little too typical– although the basic cup of joe is cheap. Warning: don’t eat in. For some reason, they charge more, just like in the old days. Pret is not quite a takeaway, not quite a restaurant, and it seems unfair that they should charge extra to get a tray and an uncomfortable seat in a busy restaurant.

I wasn’t aware of the appeal of Pret A Manger until I accompanied a friend here when she was picking up a sandwich for lunch. Imagining it to be a duplicate of Starbucks, I was pleasantly surprised at the choice offered and the more relaxed ambience. I opted for an egg mayo sandwich which was very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic — not something you would find in most other coffee houses. Good option if you want to avoid Starbucks across the road.

Pret is a healthy fast food place, a great alternative to Subway for food, or Starbucks for a coffee. This store on Sauchiehall street is perfect for a mid-shopping break. It can get quite busy in the middle of the day but you’ll usually get a seat. It’s not cheap but what you pay for you get in quality. As a veggie, I’m always impressed with what they have on offer– there’s always a meat-free soup and the Goats Cheese & Red Pepper is particularly delish. They also sell filter coffee for 99p, score.

Good but not worth it, prefer Choo Choos and Enzos in that area for Sandwiches at Lunchtime. Almost every Sandwich has either Cucumber or Tomato on them and I’m not that keen on them. Quite like the soup but at £3 a cup!

This has got to be the best sandwich shop ever. Everything they sell is freshly made on the premises that day and you can taste the quality. They have sandwiches, rolls, cakes, fruit, soup, coffee etc. Most of it is all fair trade or organic. They have a small amount of seating available for customers but is is a bit extra to use this facility. They have started to sell hot wraps, my favourite being the meatball one. My favourite sandwich is the crayfish and rocket. The place is spotless clean and all the staff are well turned out and helpful. There is not a lot of scope for parking nearby as it is in the centre of town but there are a few bus stops nearby. It is a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion.
