I popped in here for Water after eating all of the overly dry foods from Viva Brazil. 2 bottles dunk with a few minutes. Only had a few bodies in here. But I’m sure it’s busy during lunch hours. It is what it is. Looks clean and tidy. Staff are friendly.

Sainsbo’s is Sainsbo’s, right? They’re all pretty much the same and offer pretty much the same stuff. I decided to stop here rather than my usual supermarket on the way home to save an extra stop. The good things about this supermarket are: — the size, it’s nice and compact with about 6 aisles worth of stuff. — there’s not a bad selection and prices are the mid-range you’d expect of Sainbury’s. They have some decent beers here too which I didn’t expect for a small store. — the staff. The guy working the counter was seriously lovely and made my day with his helpfulness. I mentioned I’d been looking for rice and couldn’t find it, so he send another staff member to go to get it for me while he scanned the rest of my stuff. The bad things: — the layout is a bit weird and I’m still totally baffled as to where the rice was. — getting eyeballed by the security guy. I mean, I get that it’s his job but I felt like he was following me around the store. Maybe I look dodgy. — I’m not a Sainbury’s fan. They try to market themselves a bit upmarket but I really don’t think it works for them, so you end up just feeling a bit ripped off. So in essence, this store gets most of its marks for the lovely guy working the checkouts and his helpful co-worker.

This shop has to be aimed at all the nearby office workers, due to no shortage of them. With shelves laden with sandwiches, wraps and rolls to go on their meal deal range, they seem to reduce food pretty early on the day to be sure that there is little to to bin at the end of the working day. I’ve seen at weekends like melon or even fresh asparagus for 20p. Sainsbury’s are heading to the route of having little staff and more of those awkward self service counters. Overall the store has less variety & selection than a regular store but serves your basic need’s.

This is the nearest Sainsbury’s to my work so I pop into it quite a lot when I forget to pick up ingredients during my main shop. Today I went in for a swede. I want to make stew and forgot to pick one up yesterday. Because I always go here after work and it closes early(i think it’s opening hours reflect the surrounding office buildings), things start getting reduced at about 5 and I finish at 5 so always grab a bargain. I picked up half a swede, a small bag of new potatoes and a cauliflower all for the princely sum of 90p! They didn’t have any vegan butter which I also planned to pick up but I will survive without it… for now. This place recently got self scanners which amuse me because as usual there was a man telling everyone to come use them but only 1 person on the actual checkout and a huge queue. Self scanners annoy me.
