I’ve had mixed experiences with Specsavers in the past but on my last visit the staff really couldn’t have been more helpful. Knowing my prescription, they advised me on the types of frames likely to be most suitable and left me alone to browse. After trying on lots and lots of frames and trying to narrow them down I used the in store camera to take pictures on the screen which has four side by side comparisons, and also got some costs from another member of staff, taking the reference numbers of the frames so I could come back again and remember which ones I had chosen. No new specs yet, but at least I’ve narrowed it down!

It’s that time of year again where I think my eyesight is getting a little worse so it’s off to specsavers! Last year on holiday I found«the perfect frames» but rather than take an eye test in Spanish, I bought frames and waited for my eyes to get a little worse so I could get lenses in these lovely frames! Staff were friendly and happy to help. Same day service for new lenses meant I got my train home with much better eyesight. Only negative was they were maybe too keen on pushing contact lenses on me even when I said no at first. But apart from that, good experience.

I’ve only started wearing spectaculars in the last few years, and my prescription is so weak that, if handed to anyone who claims to have 20 – 20 vision, they don’t notice any difference. But I notice the difference right away. Specsavers is my only experience of an optician, therefore, I have nothing to compare them with. However, as a first timer I must admit that the experience was good. The staff are very helpful, even when they don’t know how to work the«confounded new computer system». Service is fast, I popped in on a Monday morning, was tested that afternoon and by Thursday had 2 new sets of vision enhancing fashion devices. Decent amount of frames to choose from, ranging from very cheap, around £30-£40 if I remember correctly, to designer names such as Gok Wan, Quicksilver, Osiris and Red or Dead, these might set you back £100 — £150

Great service in here and in a good central location. Big fan of Specsavers, as a partially sighted fellow. Super happy to adjust your glasses in here without appointment and they do have a good range of frames. Great promos for students and OAP’s as with all Specsavers. The only Specsavers I know of across two levels and with a permanent doorman. Is there a new crime wave of people stealing specs with no prescriptions so crooks can look like they have poor vision to lower people’s expectations of them and rob them, ahem, blind? Sorry.
