I’ve had to slightly downgrade my Spicy Hut review because the curries have got noticeably greasier, and the pakora isn’t as much a redeeming feature as it once was. It’s still the cheapest curry around, but with Da Vinci’s next door, I’d probably spend a little bit more and go there.

As it is one of the first takeaways past the Shed, Spicy Hut often gets my custom when I probably should be avoiding eating, as my taste buds are compromised by alcohol or the excitement of another big night out. However, the Hut does a good kebab, nice chips and the staff are very patient and efficient. They have the usual favourites, probably a little greasier that I would like under usual circumstances, but this is one for a late night visit.
