The Stewartfield Farm is actually a farm(well it used to be) building in the centre of Stewartfield, which itself is named after the farm. So if you live in Stewartfield you owe it to your community to visit here! I came here with a pal who has just moved in a few minutes walk(lucky him) on a Friday evening and we had some beers in the bar area. Here are my thoughts: +Friendly bar staff +Friendly locals and regulars +Nice Guinness +Has Sky Sports and BT Sports –No craft beer of any type –It was a chilly evening but the bar was so cold everyone was standing around with the jackets on. It was pretty cold! –BT Sports wasn’t working for the first half of the football so most of the punters left. It came on during the second half –On the pricier side for somewhere in East Kilbride — £13 for 4 drinks All in all I would probably give this place a 3*, but apparently the food is really good so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt for being a community asset!

I lived in East Kilbride for nearly 12 years before knowing this place even existed. Hidden at the back of a housing estate near the heritage loch I had chosen Stewartfield Farm for a Sunday lunch with my Gran(I know I’m such a sweetheart ha!). First thing to mention what an absolute steal the lunch menu is £10.95 for 2 courses or £12.95 for three courses and the place was buzzing so I’m glad I booked ahead. I had a start of black pudding and chorizo salad, the chorizo was bright and flavourful whilst the black pudding was nice without being overspiced. My Gran had the haggis fritters and she said they were some of the best things she has ever eaten. For main I went for Fish & Chips, nice without blowing me away, I’ve never really been a fan of pea purée as I’d always prefer my own and the chips were pretty average. Gran went for the Spaghetti Carbonara and devoured 2/3’s of a massive portion before admitting defeat full but very happy. For a bargain lunch on a Sunday afternoon this was pretty much bang on plus it made my Gran pretty happy and for that reason alone it gets 5 stars!
