Best curry in Glasgow. Hands down. The service is top notch. I would move here just for this spot. Raj greeted me at the door, just like every customer, chatted me up and found the perfect dish to fit me taste. Well Done!

The name says it all… The Wee Curry Shop is wee. You’d probably miss it when walking past. In fact, I didn’t notice it was there despite passing it daily from our old flat, which was right around the corner from the Shop. It’s a hidden gem in the Garnethill area. Tucked away from the bustle of Cowcaddens Road, it offers an intimate and cosy sanctuary where you can feast on some tasty Indian delights. Lumberjack and I took full advantage of the close proximity, and would find our hungry hungry hippo selves on the doorsteps of the Shop looking for a table. On the occasions we’ve visited, they had specials with included starters and a main for well under £10. I opted for the chicken saag, because it always seems to be a «safe» bet for my touchy tummy tendencies when it comes to Indian food. The service was great and attentive. They ensured that the food was made sans nuts, because of my nut allergy. Because of the small space, diners can see what is going on in the kitchen. The food came out fresh and tasty. We were satisfied… nom! The sweet and lowdown: tight intimate space, very limited seating, attentive and friendly service, reasonably priced, and fresh and tasty food.

The Wee Curry Shop may be small in size, but it’s big on taste. Snuggled in at the bottom of tenement flats in the heart of the city, The Wee Curry Shop offers a unique take on Indian food. Rather than diluating Indian cuisine and its surrounding culture to entice a Scottish audience, this place serves traditional Indian dishes with a Scottish twist. Although it’s a small restaurant it is cozy rather than stuffy, and with old fashioned, classic wooden panelling and family friendly booths, its simple, neutral colours are very relaxing by candlelight on a cold evening. Now on to the food — yum, yum! It’s light, fresh and zesty and fills you up without making you feel like you’ll break the seat. The sauces are flavoured but not too heavy, and the meat is tender and juicy. Usually when I come here I get the Karahi which is outstanding, but I hear the fish is good from some very reliable sources. There are also light, spinach based dishes available which makes this place suitable for veggies and people who shy away from spicy eats. With accomodating staff, a varied menu and an unusual, rickety interior, it’s no secret that the eclectic Wee Curry Shop is very popular amongst Glaswegians. I urge you to try this place out for yourself — just book a table well in advance!

Yum… oh, do i need to write more? Sorry. This is a cool wee place with kick ass curry, cracking service and a unique wee’ness which adds to your dining experience. I’ve been to this place a few times now having lived just up the road a few years ago. It truely lives up to its title, but more than makes up for this with some top notch indian cusine. Despite the size i would say the staff are more than accomodationg(had my graduation party/meal here with about 15 over excited relatives, two small children and a blow up horse… don’t ask). Try just about anything, its all good.

This must be one of the smallest curry shops around. There are 8 tables, ranging from 2 seats to 4 seats all packed tightly into one room. The kitchen shares this space, which is great as you can see your curry being freshly prepared. There is so little space that you have to wait to be seated outside the restaurant, and the waiters continually get in each others way. The food is amazing. Presentation isn’t amazing but it is by far the best curry I’ve ever had, and for not reasonable prices. The dishes on the menu are more what I would describe as home cooked Indian food rather than the more usual British curry houses. Expect Chicken Thigh and Chickpea curry rather than Lamb Madras. As the restaurant is so small it can be quite hard to get a table. We turned up at 5.30pm(opening time) and had to promise to clear the table by 6.30. This is definitely a place to visit on a trip to Glasgow.

Now, I’m no curry expert. So, I’m probably not the best person to review this place! This branch of the Wee Curry Shop is just along from Cowcaddens station. If you have violins, get them ready now. I always eat curry alone. All alone! Stu refuses to eat anything not covered in salt, ketchup and batter, and my friends are all coeliacs/vegetarians/wusses. So I’m left to curries myself, and I’m not very good. But I had a Rogan Josh(quite adventurous for me!!) and a plain naan out of here and both were delicious. The rogan josh was hot and fragrant — a bit too hot for me, but so tasty! And, well, I enjoyed it immensley! So, theres my two cents — expert or not!
