Bestowed with the title of ‘chocolate bar’, this Thornton’s is just as good as any other. If you’re looking for chocolate, you’ve come to the right place, and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. This Thornton’s is a little different however, because, if you can’t wait till you get home to munch your cappuccino chocolate bar, then you can do it here with a nice mug of hot chocolate. Chocolate overdose? Is there such a thing? They do a great range of choccies for every season. I always get my dad the mint selection for Xmas, and the 4 for £2 chocolate baubles make awesome stocking fillers. For Easter, you could get something written on an egg of your choice, 2 of them for £5 which was brilliant for my nieces. They do a good line in kids sweets too, and it’s always somewhere I go when I want something extra to put in a present. You can’t beat Thornton’s for delicious chocolate at great prices!

Do you love chocolate? I love chocolate. And to pirate the M&S phrase, this is no ordinary chocolate, this is Thorntons extra luxurious, decadent chocolate. The chocolatier is a profession and he is forever making sweet sweet art at Thorntons. Although this store is quite small its convenient to stop when passing by and what sounds more comforting that the ‘chocolate bar’. Yum and double yum. If you are lucky, sometimes the chocolatiers assistants are out on the street offering samples. I have tried and tested quite few of the chocolates here, and can say my all time favourite is the Vanilla fudge. Thorntons Sauchiehall St is a great place to be, its right in the heart of the shopping district and acts as a stool to rest those tired feet and put down those heavy bags before you set off again with the power of a chocolate full tummy to lead you on.

I adore Thorntons and everyone I know is aware of this so I always get lots of Thorntons for my birthday! Yum! My favourite has to be the Viennese Truffles, oh my goodness, they are to die for! I could eat a whole bag to myself and then still want more! I also like Alpini Bars, Chocolate Smothered Toffee, Special Toffee, Strawberry Whirl, Toffee Cubes… I could go on forever! This branch of Thorntons is one of the smaller branches but they still manage to get everything in, they also have an ice-cream section in summer and a chocolate fountain all year round, where you choose from sticks of fudge, fruit or marshmallows. I also love the kids chocolate section, you can buy little chocolate lollies which are usually on offer at 5 for £2. There are little boxes with packets of sweets and chocolate in them with stickers too. It’s also great for presents, I once bought a chocolate gorilla for my brother with his name written on in it with icing, pretty fitting I thought. It’s also worth noting that Thorntons stock a wide range of diabetic chocolate which is great as many places don’t stock this. My first ever job was in a branch of Thorntons when I was around 16, I was just a Christmas Temp for a month or so but it was seriously the best job ever! You got 25% discount off everything, plus free tasting on your break and if that wasn’t enough there was also a box of broken chocolate that you could eat as much as you wanted!
