Not so much a «centre» as a shop, but there’s something reasonably likeable about this modest little business on Dumbarton Road. For one thing, it’s been providing the sports clubs of Glasgow with player of the year trophies, offices with company awards and hen/stag parties with light-hearted prizes for decades and has developed a strong reputation for good, albeit fairly generic, products. I particularly like the large love heart they have on their window just now suggesting a trophy is the ideal gift for your loved on Valentine’s Day. In actual fact, the shop has branched out a little over the years and now offers various other nic-nacs, including fairly tacky Old Firm merchandise and the odd piece of jewellery. Although trophies remain its speciality, the shop exudes an overwhelming Partick-feel in that it now seems to sell a little bit of this and a little of that. But you know, this place deserves a trophy itself for its longevity in what is a fairly transitional retail strip. Chances are they’ll have just the job somewhere in stock.
