It’s just a chippy.
And not a bad one at that! Although it’s not my first choice, it is quite handy if you’re on your way back from somewhere. Since it’s situated on Edinburgh road, it encounters mostly road traffic. However it is right beside the practice football pitches, so maybe they get more custom than I imagine. Fitting, huh?
I had the unfortunate experience of having to call them one night because my boyfriend was feigning for a haggis supper at about 11pm. They were pretty short with me on the phone and demanded «NOT YOUR FIRST NAME» when I gave them it for an order. Then she proceeded to ask me to spell my surname about 7 times. How many Nicolas were they expecting 20 minutes before closing time?
Anyway, besides their surliness, it’s usually pretty well stocked with lots of deep-​fried, 2-​hour old surprises.
Who am I kidding? It’s rubbish. Stick with what you know.
