I booked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and centrally located. I booked a standard room with no window which was about £45 a night. I was given my keycard and I entered the room. It was located on the ground floor. I went in and the room did not look like a hotel room. The bathroom area dominated the space. It seemed a bit industrial and horrible. I went back to reception and asked to pay for an upgrade. I decided to pay for a window room which was on the second floor. This made such a difference. The room actually looked like a proper hotel room. The large Samsung TV was placed on the wall at the foot of the bed. There was a free bottle of water. All the sky channels including movies and sports. The bathroom is frosted and not silent proof! The best thing was coming down between 5−8pm for a glass of wine and help yourself to cheese! The OH was offered a bottle of beer, and he could pick any from what was available(innes and gunn, Heineken etc). I received a 175ml glass of wine. There was a good selection of cheese but I was mostly interested in the Brie and the blue cheese. There was crackers, oatcakes, and sour dough bread. Chutneys, grapes and strawberries to finish. Overall it has been a good stay, but I would say that it is better to upgrade the room.

Stayed there 2 nights in August 15. The place still looks brand new(it is!) and the rooms, even with no windows, are nice and comfy. Breakfast is a tad expensive(7.50£) but hey, it comes with a fresh bacon roll ! Nice touch: 1 night in the hotel = 1 complementary glass of wine in the pretty café area and free access to the late afternoon cheese buffet. With scottish blue cheese. Paradise.

Spent two nights here on the beginning of my whirlwind tour of Scotland. I booked based off the recommendation of another-to-remain-nameless travel review site(with a website motif splashed in greens and yellows). I think the best way to describe Z Hotel is a no-frills hotel with all the frills. It’s definitely budget conscious. You are paying to rent a room with a bed, TV, toilet, shower, and a tea service… but of the highest quality. I was very comfy in my Glaswegian Z hotel room. Staff was nice. They also double as a café? So they have a continental breakfast for a bit of a steep price but you get a bacon roll with it. It’s alright. It gets a star knocked off because the hose to my shower head sprung a leak my first night which made showering difficult(but not impossible). It was a minor inconvenience that I told the staff about a couple times but there really wasn’t an effort to get it fixed while I was there. It certainly didn’t ruin the stay but if I was staying at a different(frillier?) hotel, the service would have been more prompt. Sorry, Z Hotel… but you still get a generous 4 stars from me.

It’s totally acceptable quality of room compared to price. Free wifi reasonable breakfast quite room I want to complain about no permission of elevator for customer and female manager, Loredana Rotaru’s impolite attitude about Foreigners.

Having just checked into this hotel, the format is perfect for the price. Excellent and friendly staff. Very nice rooms, very modern(4 days old), a lovely shower and bathroom. Finally, the bed is huge, there is a power socket exactly where you want one and to top it off, Sky TV in my room. I forgot to mention I got this room for £50. Definitely, definitely recommended. Citizen M have got a serious competitor for my custom. EDIT: I booked into a different room, this hotel is about as far from finished as possible. Above the ground floor everything starts to come out.
