We came here before visiting Gloucester Abbey. It was, admittedly, the only place open on that Sunday. The café is very quaint, and our server was so friendly. I enjoyed my red onion, fig, and goat cheese panini, and the other members of my family enjoyed their burgers and chips. The tea was tasty, and the coffee was strong, although the dessert was too sweet for our taste. All in all, not a bad place for a quick lunch before sightseeing. Situated right on top of Gloucester Cathedral(not literally of course that would be nonsense, but close enough). Comfy Pew is pretty much the perfect tourist stop. Quick tip though, don’t sit too near the door, at least until they get the squeak and the thump everytime it closes sorted. But once your inside the pew is as comfy as the name implies, service was swift and with a smile(despite being busy). And though it was only tea and cake all round everyone of us was satisfied with what we had. And despite the aforementioned busyness they didn’t mind us taking the extra time to wait out the rain before venturing back into the British Summer. A really nice little place and in exactly the right spot for a well earned cuppa.
