The Jack Phillips

One of the better Weatherspoons with a very modern wine barish interior. Really long single roomed pub. Usual selection of real ales which are inexpensive. Other than that its pretty average as pubs go.

Looks ordinary on the outside but, as so often with Wetherspoons, the interior is vast and interesting. Backs on to a car-​park, which might be useful!

This Wetherspoons seems to be keeping more to the original idea, which was decent pubs without the loud music, unfortunately they gave in and got the fruit machines. Much better than the one in Guildford which seems to always have ear piercing music playing in the evenings. Godalming Spoons is a regular haunt for nights out with mates where you can actually hear what people are saying without having to shout.
Good drinks prices, plenty of variety, friendly staff. Always clean, staff always clearing tables.

This a like most wetherspoons, very big and not very personal but on saying that it isn’t a bad pub. I occasionally pop in there on a Saturday morning with a friend for coffee and its nice and quiet at that time and they do make great coffee at the usual cheap wetherspoons price. They do a breakfast which is nice and always comes out piping hot. It is a very different story on a weekend night though because they get extremely busy and you do have to queue for quite a while for your drink so its a good idea to buy 2 at the same time. The prices do encourage younger people to go in there so its not really a place to sit and have a chat in as it can get a little noisey but I am getting old now! Overall its a good pub with good staff.
