Once very good and very popular. Sadly like may Beefeaters in Surrey, this is now a dump. Under staffed, dirty, run down, poor service and awful food. Avoid! The one good note on my last and I mean last visit was Sam the waitress. I felt sorry for her as nearly everyone was complaining about the food. I am beginning to wonder whether the owners(Whitbread?) aren’t looking to sell the land to developers. Both this and the truly awful Combe Lodge in Croydon would be worth millions.

My aunt and uncle live around the corner and this is one of «their go to places» for dinner. Visiting from Los Angeles, it was nice to see the friendly interaction we had going here. All around enjoyed my experienced. Loved my fish and chips, I ordered the large and thought there was more than enough food for two people. My uncle had the seafood pasta and that looked yummy too! Finally, My aunt ordered the plum pudding for dessert and the three of us could not finish it as we were too full from our meals. That being said, fresh, delicious food ALWAYS hits the spot on the first night your visiting someone from abroad. Wish my stay here was longer so I could come again.

Classic English pub with spectacular food. Good vibe as well. Had the liver special — the best I’ve ever had. My friends has the fish and chips which were also excellent. Will stop by again when in the area

One of the better Beefeaters. The 16th century building has interesting beamed nooks & cranies. The dining room is well laid out with tables set apart. Food is consistantly good value for money and the staff helpful & friendly. There is a lovely courtyard set out with tables & huge umbrellas which is great for summer eating. There is a large car park at the rear but entrance is not easy to spot especially if coming from M25 direction but it is just after the post office on the left. There is also parking by the pond opposite.
