Again… another place that I have probably walked by(actually more like stumbled by on my way to the Pizza Place from Gravity) and never noticed. Shame really. If I’m being honest, it doesn’t look like much on the outside, but once you get inside, the restaurant is very nice. There is a little sitting area to the left of the door, while the bar is on the right. It would be a nice little place for a romantic dinner. It was just a little before 7 p.m. and we were the only people in the restaurant. The hostess even made a joke about how they had reservations, even though there was no one in the restaurant. The menu offers a nice variety without being overwhelming. We started with garlic bread and while I was torn between the swordfish or the Toscano chicken… I ended up going with the chicken as the thought of mushrooms, a creamy sauce, and mozzarella sounded delicious! Along with the Chicken, Meat, and Seafood dishes, you also get the choice of pasta, rice, chips, or roasted potatoes. Seeing as how it is an Italian restaurant, I opted for the pasta. The garlic bread was a ciabatta roll split in half… delicious, but nothing special there. By the time we got our bread, there were a few more people in the restaurant. When the chicken came out, it was piping hot and looked delicious. The chicken breast was covered with some mushrooms and a layer of melted mozzarella on top of some penne pasta with a creamy sauce and more mushrooms. They did not offer any freshly cracked pepper or grated parmesan cheese. The chicken was tender and juicy, but the cream sauce was a little bland… probably could’ve used the sprinkle of cheese on top. Could have used a bit more sauce for the pasta as well. My friend had the Rosso Chicken. I thought the menu had described it as pieces of chicken in a tomato sauce, but when it came out it was a whole chicken breast, just like mine. It looked a lot like my dish, but with a red sauce instead of a cream sauce. Overall the meal was nice and I’d like to go back and try something else on the menu… probably the swordfish. By the time we left, there were more people in the restaurant and I would imagine that on a Saturday night that it would be wise to make a reservation to ensure a table after 7 p.m.

Lovely restaurant with lovely food. The staff are excellent, giving you a relaxed atmosphere along with the great service and quality. The steaks are amazing and as already reviewed the pizzas are huge!

A meal to remember! Truly excellent food, likewise the wiine and also the service. There is nothing I can say to praise this restuarant highly enough. Everything about the place was superb. My wife and I are in our late 50s and have been patronising Italian restaurants for nearly 40 years, including our many years living in London and we have never had a better Italian meal nor better service. If only we didn’t live so far away in Suffolk, we’d be regulars! If we evey pass anywhere near Grantham, we shalll be back and I recommend that you try it too!
