I would call this a normal lounge — supposedly, the Senator side(for Star Alliance Gold and Lufthansa Senator members) is better than the normal side(for business class passengers). But the only difference I really noticed was maybe a little bit more space or a little less busy, and there was Johnnie Walker Black instead of Johnnie Walker Red. But, in brief, I will say that the seating was comfortable and the catering(by D O & Co, probably the best of the airline caterers) was better than anything I’ve ever seen in a United lounge, including the United Global First lounge in O’Hare(rogan josh and vegetable korma the night I was there, both quite good). So while this didn’t blow me away like some of the ANA lounges or the expansive LH lounges in Frankfurt, it’s still a great place to hide out and wait for your flight. I actually have not used the United lounge in LHR, which according to a coworker, is much better than the large ORD United Club at C gates… but then, that wouldn’t take much. I think if you are a Star Alliance Gold, the Senator lounge is your better option if traveling internationally. Finally, should point out that there’s really no security for the Senator lounge — no separate boarding pass or credential check when I was there, you just walk in, since it’s located through the normal lounge. My coworker and I were entitled to be there thanks to our Star Alliance Gold status… but even without that, if you were feeling shifty, I think that you too could enjoy slightly better Johnnie Walker…

Similar to Lufthansa lounges in other countries but without shower or bar service. Food offerings are similar but coffee/espresso machine is not good as it doesn’t make any foam. All espresso drinks taste like milk coffee. Very crowded in both senator section or business section. No difference either. Good place to grab snack and drink but not for relaxing before or between long flights.

The Lufthansa lounge is near the A gates and the closest lounge just after clearing security if you are a transit passenger. The senator lounge is within the regular lounge in Terminal 2 and it was a great place to sleep during a long layover after a trans-Atlantic flight. When we first arrived in the early morning the lounge was empty, but it was full by mid morning while the outer lounge was empty. They had a very large selection of breakfast food. The full English breakfast options included scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, and a very tasty patty if some sort. Of course, there were German breakfast options of meat, cheese, and great bread. There was also yogurt, fruit, and three types of cold cereal.

The Lufthansa Lounge is at Heathrow terminal 2 is brand new and was a pleasant surprise(compared to the dire lounges that were available before). The lounge is spacious with plenty of seats available. There are different types of seats so both proper tables, chairs and space to sit and work at more of a proper desk. Plenty of places to charge phone, comouter, pad or whatever one wants to charge. Added plus that there are both UK and Europeans plugs so no need fo adapters. The food selection was pretty decent(three warm dishes, two soups, some cold dishes and salads, fruits as well as desserts). Drinks were pretty standard(not up to par with the BA lounge in T5 but still good). Free wifi, some TVs and plenty of newspapers and magazines(different languages) makes this a very good lounge by European standars. Happy to spend an hour or so here.
