Gullane is a very nice place. Walk along Main Street and you come across lots of little shops with character. When I stopped there I thought to do my weekend shop in the delicatessen shop along the Main street. The choices were not overwhelming and the prices high compared to normal shops with the same products, but as I did not have any food at home, I thought I give it a try. I bought about 5 items and paid £20. This included Bread, eggs, Parma ham, soft cheese and a carrot cake. Sadly the bread was dry, the cheese tasted old as left too long on display, the cake I never ate and the Parma ham… well, not what I had expected(nothing like the Parma that you get in Italy) However, the service was really nice, such a nice shop to have in a small village.
