I really can’t add too much more to what Melissa said in her review except I agree wholeheartedly!

This is going to end in tears. I can feel it now as I’m on a total sweet binge. When that mood takes you and you are in Harrogate you have to check out Farrah’s for divine toffee. It is now a brand known across the globe and you may recognise the blue and silver embossed tins. They were established in 1840 and even export to eight different countries. So you know they obviously have a talent for what they do. And oh yes do they ever. Their toffee and fudge is immaculate. They have tins, bars or boxes. It’s an embarrassment of riches. You’ll also find traditional sweets of the old school variety. We’re talking ace boiled sweets of yesteryear. Throw in jams, chutneys, cakes and biscuits too and you can come away with a dream selection. This is my favourite bit though. They even do sugar free sweets. How good is that! Sweets with less guilt, now we’re talking. A place to visit for sure and one that may well make your diet falter. I apologize for that but please invoice my accountant not me for damages

Any sweet-tooth’s delight, the entrance to Farrah’s is jam-packed with chocolates, toffees, licuorice and all sorts of tasty treats. The fudge stole the show for me; gorgeous, soft and sweet and dispensed by a very helpful guy who foolishly allowed us to sample before we bought(we suddenly considered many different kinds!). Having just moved to Harrogate I can guarantee Farrah’s will contribute to the continued failure of my diet. But what a way to fail!

Oh my god I love it here. It is like some kind of treasure trove of sweeties. It’s amazing. It makes you feel like Charlie Bucket. It smells delicious and there’s no way that you’ll leave empty handed, even if you only pop in to have a look around.

A terrific shop for the foodie. If you can get past the array of delicious chocolate as you go in(it’s tough!) you’ll find some excellent preserves and biscuits as well as cheese, olives, cured meat, pâté, sausages. It’s one of those places where you can get loads of stuff sorted around Christmas as anyone who doesn’t want something from this place must have fiercely resistant taste buds.
