As part of our anniversary celebrations we took a visit to Hastings, one of the wifes favourite childhood holiday destinations. We stayed in a nice(and very expensive hotel) and wanted to eat somewhere great. We chose right! Webbe’s Rock-a-nore is right there next to the seaside. A brilliant location and such a lovely restaurant. We booked for 7pm and when we got there it was busy but not overly and we were seated quickly. Quite close to the door but, more importantly, close to the bar! We rarely order starters as the missus doesn’t always have a big appetite. She ordered fish and chips(she loves a classic) and I tried something a little different, pan fried dabs which came with a nice salad containing beetroot which I LOVE! I had a side of courgette fries too. It was all delicious and served by genuinely nice staff! The courgette fries were a little bit too crunchy but still tasty. I would definitively recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Hasting. In fact, I’d definitely go back again myself!

I was so happy to go here. It’s great to have a decent restaurant at last. Modern clean and friendly but formal service. Great food but had better traditional fish and chips elsewhere.

I’ve only eaten at the Webbes site at the Stade, but what a great place. We were there at Christmas and have been back since. Attentive staff, fantastic food and a refreshing change to your traditional fish and chips. I recommend the platter. Something for everyone. Even the kids loved it! Brilliant.

Is it me or is Hastings finally going places at last? We were here on a Tuesday and having been unable to get in to a George Street bistro found Webbe’s down by the Stade. We got the last two seats and were terribly impressed by this fine fish establishment. Though plaice is the thing in these parts we went for a joyous seafood platter; Lobster, crab, oysters, prawns, whelks, cockles, winkles. It was fantastic, a real treat. An upmarket, groovy restaurant where I only thought they did bad fish & chips. Well, well, well worth a go.
