Really friendly and attentive staff, good food and decent choice of wines and beers, very good selection of seating inc cosy corners as well as outdoor garden.

We all went of to the Cock o The North in high spirits and with keen appetites. We all had a variety of the Sunday Lunch. Not a good move. It was a cross between school dinners and hospital food. Mine looked like it had been poured from a bucket. On the up side, it was a sunny day and the staff were not hostile. Hence the two stars.

Great for family meals — good cosy atmosphere(but plenty of space!) great menu(with ‘small plate’ options for some dishes) and a good range of desserts as well as main courses!

The food is pretty pricey here but usually to a good standard. I recently booked a Christmas meal there and was impressed that they were able to offer me an alternative 3 course meal option(nothing on the set menu was vegan).

Lovely pub — great staff and great food. Been there loads and would highly recommend it. Been there for lots of birthday dinners and never been disappointed.

We went here for a family boxing day meal and found the pub was fantastic inside, it being located on the main A1001 road between Hatfield and Potters Bar. We had a large party of us going, but they catered for all of us very quickly and efficiently. The service we received when here was fantastic and the food itself was lovely. I would definitely recommend coming here for a meal and would have no hesitation coming back here in future.

Off the A1000, the pub is rather hard to see, with only a small sign sticking out onto the road. There is ample parking space, and greenery which is always pleasant. The pub itself is picturesque, with traditional oak beams and an inviting village feel. Inside the pub offers and good lunch and dinner, with prices under the £10 per head mark for what i would describe a wholesome pub grub. Drinks are also very reasonable priced, and the sofa’s offer a great place to sit and chat with friends although i would recommend to get there early, as by 9pm the best spots are gone although no late license does limit the pubs appeal of weekends. The secret of this pub is the beer garden with expansive views into the countryside.
