Ok so let me start by saying, I really wanted to love this place but I just didn’t that much. Inside the décor is lovely and it looks a really inviting place to have a meal. I unfortunately was picking up a takeaway and having it at work. We shared a traditional Keralan fish curry and a lamb vindaloo as mains and sag paneer and Pepperhuts equivalent of an aubergine bhaji called a Vazhuthananga Thoran. The veg side dishes were nice, but wouldnt set the world alight as was the plain and chilli paratha. The fish curry tasted just about ok fairly boring really. The sauce was thin like water too, I never came across this type of fish curry in Kerela. The only reason I went to pepperhut was because the fish curries I had in Kerela were lavish decedant things in thick sauces packed full of flavour. Pepperhut unfortunately managed to serve up a pretty insipid taste of the south Indian state. The lamb vindaloo at nearly £7 only had about 10 pieces in it, 6 of which were potato and it was tiny to start with. I was under the impression that due to the trade descriptions act the greatest ingredient had to be listed first. This shouldve been a potato vindaloo, come on Pepperhut, really? Do you not want repeat custom? Obviously not if you treat your customers with such contempt. Shame because the staff seemed very friendly.

One of the worst Indian resturant in Hemel. It serves the food which smells dirty and rotten. I visited the returant last night and served Mysore bonda which was rotten. When I called the waiter and asked about it he took back and he didnt even apologise for that Please don’t go to the restaurant ever. If you want to get ill help yourself. I can rate it as –5 for serving rotten food and –5 for the service. Please report this to health authority and I will truy my best to inform.
