Just called in to visit a ‘well known café’. We were amused to find cut-outs of Nora and Compo but they did really fit in. We both had egg mayonnaise baps which were freshly made and tea both of which were delicious. We found the staff friendly so perhaps other people gave off bad vibes! We enjoyed it; it was a bit of fun and satisfied a rumbly tum till dinner! Glad we called in.

Lets be honest the place looks tired and grubby inside, its really pokey inside and the staff are rude. The menu selection is basic to be kind and grim to be honest and well over priced for the quality of food served. If i t hadnt been the café from last of the summer wine i think it would go bust in a matter of weeks as most of its trade is from tourists on coaches who i doubt would want to return. On my visit which i’ll never do again i had a cup of tea with ham and cheese toastie. The tea was foul and the toastie unedible, though i tried to eat half of it. That resulted in me being sick before i could make it back to my car in the car park opposite. Please dont think im being nasty for the sake of it as ive never felt the need to publicly warn people of somewhere, but this place was sooooo bad its quite scary. I know theres other reviews above me but it makes wonder did a friend of theirs post itcause there was certainly nothing appealing that would make me return

Small, cosy and friendly, looks a lot like you imagine from the TV series. Lots of pictures of the cast and scenes from the series. The scones are very nice. Also, the Summer Wine tour bus departs just outside.

A very small café, its not quite as it is on the tv but you can see how it is changed. They dont sell pie and chips but they sell a selection of snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. Great for fns of the programme but not really for locals as it is usually full of tourists wanting to know where Nora batty is! Some pleasant staff and some not so but it might have been a bad day. Anyway well worth a visit for fans. The bacon sarnies are microwaved by the way, so avoid them

I love the programme and the café looks just as It should on the outside. One of the very few locations for filming actually in Holmfirth. Do ring tourist board if yur travelling along way as it has a tendancy to be closed or open late

Holmfirth is brilliant, it’s a definite must see place. If the café is open go and have a drink just to say you have been in sid’s café. There is good food to be had in the pubs in Holmfirth too and they have a nice inside market.

If you go to Holmfirth then chances are you will immediately recognise Sid’s Café. It is where Compo and Cleggy and all the other hang out in Last of the Summer Wine. If you remember Sid was the owner ‚(played by the late John Comer), and Ivy, his wife, still runs it in the series. So familiar and is a real café most of the year. I think the interiors were shot in a studio but they are seen going in etc. Go and have a cuppa.
