For me, this is Edale’s premier overnight destination. It is perhaps a little pricey for some, but the quality is very high. The owner is friendly and interested, without being overbearing. Our room was well decorated and was fresh and comfortable. We were shown round when we arrived and given a pack of info relating to the area and stonecroft itself. The room had hot drink facilities and a shower ensuite with free shampoos, body wash, cotton wool etc. There was a TV and docking station, plus alarm clock and radio. The bed was comfortable and had great pillows. We woke to the smell of freshly baked bread. Fabulous! Food is excellent at stonecroft. Vegetarians and vegans are very well catered for, as are those on a gluten free diet. The cooked breakfasts are superb, as are cold breakfasts. I loved the jam choice especially. Nothing was too much trouble at stonecroft, we were treated very well indeed. Although there are more rooms, only 2 are ever let out at once, making it very exclusive at any time. There is off street parking, a garden and a lounge to relax in and a library to borrow from.
